Incredibly kind and thoughtful, one of the few professors that cares about your success. He spends countless hours preparing for each lesson, you need to put in the same effort - the material is tough, but so is the industry. The program is UBC, not college level, so the difficulty is standard for university. I now have an amazing job in industry.

Awesome Professor - a tough marker but one of the few left who won't give away grades. He will push you to learn and actually help you understand the material. Always open to taking the time to help students understand what they are struggling with.

Never a boring class with Mark! Very knowledgeable in assessment/appraisal and knows how to teach it! Mark is the RPA program, I was very disappointed that I didnt get to finish the program with him. Hope he will be back for future classes, or itll be a boring 2 years for them.

In my opinion he is a great professor. He cares about this program and students who really want to work in this field. Yes he is tough grader but he wants his students to be on top of everything. I met him on an open house at Seneca, after i met him i decided to quit my job and join the program. Imo all the negative graders are people who failed.

Mark is the most influential person in my life. I was a newcomer to Canada. I was struggling to fit into the classroom and I almost dropped out, however he never gave up on me, he made school much more meaningful to me. He understood my language barrier or interrupted learning. He was more than just a professor, he changed my life for the better.

Mark is one of the best professors I have ever had. He goes above and beyond to make sure that students achieve and definitely shows that teaching is his passion. His is also a great lecturer with and brings a humours aspect to his teaching. If you show that your care and put in the work, he will go the extra mile for you! Wonderful prof!!

Best professor I've ever had. Lectures are never boring, and always a fair marker. Make sure you attend all classes and complete assignments - this is not an easy A course, the material can be really difficult at times, and like Mark will tell you - if you fall behind it is really hard to get caught up. He is really good looking too hehe.

I just finished my last class with Professor Leavens :( Hes a great Prof - my favourite from the program. He makes class fun and ensures that everyone understands what hes teaching. He is extremely passionate about the RPA program. He organized a career night for the students tons of industry contacts came. It was a great opportunity to network

Definitely the best teacher I have had, he is always prepared for class with informative and entertaining lectures, and willing to give extra help whenever needed. This program is not easy at all, but Mark makes it fun and does his best to make sure all students succeed in the program.
