There were few opportunities for grades. Short readings every week that are discussed in class. He does not take points for participation. 3 exams and 1 final, in class essays. Had trouble getting students to participate in class and was a tough grader.

His class is straight lectures, no power points. His grading is quite critical and to the point, but he gives no feedback as to how we can improve in the class. He gave no vital feedback, and it seemed pointless to ask him questions. Tests are subjective, he wants you to prove his points and didnt really care about your approach. Not recommended.

Comment:
The class is straight lecture, no PowerPoints, no projects, no group work. The lectures are extremely boring and slow-paced. However, you HAVE to go to class to succeed in this class. Although there are assigned readings, you need to grasp HIS concepts if you want to do well on the exams, which are written. It was very hard to do well in this class

Waymack is the best. He is super funny and helpful, and you learn a lot without a great deal expected of you. You don't need to do the readings to get a decent grade in the course, but if you do he will answer all your questions and you will understand the material.

He has extreme knowledge in this area. He is thought-provoking and entertaining. His lectures will really make you think, and he is overall a great guy. His grading lacks structure, so this can be a big turn off. It is hard to predict grades, because they seem slightly random.

Prof. Waymack is a really well-qualified philosophy professor. His knowledge of medicine and medical ethics is very broad and he always helps out all of his students. I just wish the people in the course were more open to diverse opinions, though professor Waymack does a great job of mediating discussion.

This was an online class, however Professor Waymack is the most clear/understandable teacher I've probably ever had. Awesome, awesome, awesome experience. As long as you back up your argument, you'll be fine. Will answer any questions, very helpful. Really learned a lot. Want to take another class with him.

Great teacher, very engaging lecturer. Class participation makes things even more interesting. 3 exams, all essays. Just defend your argument and you'll be fine. Going to class will get you a much better grade, you can't learn all the material from the textbook.

There are only 3 tests including the final. Unless you go to class its hard to do well in the class. The first test was short answer and the study guide really helped but the rest were study cases (essay). Didn't really care too much for them because he was never really clear on exactly what he wanted from them.

Seems very easy, at first. Gives you a study guide before the exams. HOWEVER, I have no idea what he is looking for in our essays. In his comments, he totally undermines your entire effort. Really wish he would be more clear...

Great lecturer, but has his TA run the whole class! Doesn't help that his TA was horrible! Hard to rate this guy since he didn't even grade us. Brilliant person, but terrible class structure.

I thought this class was going to be easy. His exam grading seems to be random and very specific. Make sure you write definitions down word for word both in class and in the textbook.

Great professor! Made 8:30 AM class interesting with sound effects! 1-pg reflection paper every week, two 5-pg short papers, and a 10-pg final paper. No tests! Fair grader, but just remember your argument doesn't always have to be in black and white and it's easier to argue the pro side than the con side.

wrote two books about whiskey! three papers for the whole class and no tests, very easy going! didn't care at all when the whole class didn't read the assignment. little to no effort required if you know how to write a decent philosophy paper.
