Comment:

I took Dr. Garbowsky's online Comp II class which did have weekly homework and a few quizzes but it honestly was not bad at all. She made it clear when assignments would be due and how much they would count for. Since it was online I never actually met her, but she seems like a sweetheart through email and would always be happy to answer questions.

Comment:

Personally, she is a kind woman but how she grades is unclear which makes her class challenging to excel in. I'm generally an A student, so I was disappointed when I received a B- in her class. How she grades papers, even after two semesters in her class, still makes little to no sense to me. I would not recommend due to her lack of clarity.

Decent teacher. Grading and expectation is completely unclear. She will not give you a grade for anything, the only thing you get is your final grade. Hardly gives you any feedback, and you pretty much teach yourself. She isn't terrible, but I wouldn't take her again.

Really sweet woman who clearly cares about literature. You definitely have to read, but the most she ever assigns is MAYBE 10 pages. Super easy, but she gives a quiz on the readings every day. Only one short term paper, which is nice. She made a required course enjoyable. If you get an A in the class, she *might* even exempt you from the final!

Super awesome woman. She is a total sweetheart and cares about the course she is teaching. Has good material and the way she operates her class is very straight forward and easy to sit through. Absolutely willing to help you. She is a joy to talk to and a wonderful teacher. Enjoyed the class.

She is the best English professor. She was very informative, and helps you every way possible. A total gem at CCM. Gives extra credit if you miss her quizz. Follow her syllabus and you will pass. Make sure and read the books because she gives pop quizzes and them.

Sweetest professor I've ever had. No written homework, but gives small reading quizzes every class. Read sparknotes for the longer stuff and you'll be fine. Nothing too tricky on the tests. I bombed the research paper/handed it in super late and still got a B+ in this class. Just show a genuine effort and she'll take care of you

A great lady that really cares about her students. She was so sweet to me. She's a pretty tough grader but gives so many chances for extra credit and drops like 3 quizzes. Lectures are kind of boring especially if you didn't read. You have to read to pass!

Took Comp 1 online with her. very helpful and communicates very well through email. Doesnt give grades when she reviews each assignment and doesnt post any grades so you dont know how you are doing until you get your final grade at the end.

At first I loved the class, however, over the course of a couple classes did I start to not like it. She asks to stupidest questions for quizzes, but she does drop at least 5 of them. The class was just meh.

I took this class online and while the Professor was helpful when I had questions, she did not post grades on any assignments at all. It's hard to know where you stand when she doesn't provide that feedback. I got a B, so it's not terrible but I feel like I would have done better if I knew what my grades were as the class progressed.

She's an awesome teacher, very sweet lady but her grading is very strict. She is very thorough with everything. Her quizzes, every class, on what you read are somewhat easy. Definitely do recommend her as a professor.

I took Prof. Garbowsky's on-line creative writing class and I really enjoyed it. She was available in-ofice and on-line to provide additional help with grammar, assignments and advice concerning future careers in writing. If you are not willing to do the reading and submit quality assignments DO NOT take her class.

If you hate hw, she is not the teacher for you. If your out more than 4 times, I'd drop because she will fail you. Do not lose the syllabus because it shows you exactly what your hw is and what your learning that day. she's ok i didn't gain much from her class but im also not an english major. over all it wasnt worth my $ to take her class.
