If you are interested in taking a professor who is rude, obnoxious, unhelpful and someone who has a world class ego then go ahead and dig your own grave. The first day of class he spends half the class period gloating about his books and how he is a published author. Nothing you do is ever good enough for this guy and he thinks he is better than everyone

I've taken ENC1102 with this man and it is tough, especially if you're new to writing research papers. But I promise you, you will leave that class completely prepared to write any paper for the rest of your academic career. The below reviews are right; he isn't your friend. Pretty easy teacher, teaches you the basic about writing. He talks alot but thats somewhat bearable. He gives out alot of quizzes in the beginning of the semester, there are real easy if you look at the book once or twice

I was under the impression that English teachers were supposed to encourage you and ispire you to become the best writer you can possibly be! Instead, Dr. Cleary discourages you away from the writing process and he can absolutely paralyze you from progessing into a competent writer.Do yourself a favor and take another Professor!

The worst ever! If you want to be stressed out and overwhelmed with anxiety all semester long due to the fact that he scares you away from writing, than go ahead and dig your own grave. He treats writing like its some type of complicated science. The assignments are reasonable, but his lectures and instructions are a waste of time.

So i used this site to find a good enc1101 teacher, and he was my choice. He is a great teacher! He's really there to help anyone just ask, he has office hours if you need more help. He's a little strict on attendance but its all worth it. If you really want to learn and get something out this enc1101 then take his clas. He even has his own workbk!

This guy is the worst teacher I have ever had at any grade level. He is completely useless and unhelpful. His lectures are also very dry and boring. In addition, he is very lazy as well. Very easy class as far as assignments. Like all the other comments say, he is certain his way is the right way. The good thing is he is that he looks over every detail and honestly cares about your writing. Some students had problems with him, and he is very sensitive about people talking while someone is reading. Tries to sell his books in class.

Dr. Cleary is completely anal! His class is extremely BORING and he gives pop quizzes every other day. He is obsessed with english and is anal about every period and comma, his class is very hard and attendence is extemely important. :( I wouldn't reccomend him.
