I had Michael for Elements both semesters of my freshman year. He's a great guy and teacher. The course was self-directed and independent- and unfortunately not everyone brought in great work every week. He definitely challenged me to think about What Kind of Art Do I Want To Make For The Rest of My Life? Definitely recommend him.

Had Michael for Drawing II my first semester of college...He might have been one of the most intimidating and brutal professors I've had.As far as his subject he is amazing.Teaching skills,personal involvement, and intelligence are beyond wishes.But he is obnoxious,straight-forward,perfectionist,who wants everything his way or no way.Grades fairly.

Elements of Visual Thinking with Michael is very open and vague. Therefore, you have to come up with almost all of the projects on your own so essentially you do work you want but you're going to have to have an amazing explanation to back it up. His movies are bizarre and it's mostly just a class of open critique.

Michael is cocky, but he's also very intelligent, very clear, and, in my opinion, a very good teacher. He gives honest critiques. He's serious about painting, so some people who aren't going into painting did not find his class helpful.

Possibly one of the most helpful, interesting and amazing teachers here! I always enjoyed listening to him talk, he has a tendency to go off on tangents, but they're worth it. He has a great sense of humor. Very intelligent. He knows what he's talking about. And one of his favorite phrases seemed to be, "So there you have it."

An amazing teacher. At first I walked into that class dreading it, but by the end of the semester I was sad to leave. He might not be the easiest drawing teacher, but he definitely is helpful. All his comments and advice are very clear. His assignments are broad, too.

Michael Weiss Rocks!! Not only is he soooo talented, he is awesome..funny, smart, and won't beat around the bush. He tells you what he thinks and is the biggest help I've had. Awesome musical choices and a great sense of humor! I always look forward to his class.

Michael is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He offers clear cut advice and opinons on your work. He's very honest and blunt, which proves to be very helpful--as opposed to teachers who sugarcoat things--he tells you how it is. Take his class if you want to grow as an artist and learn how to improve your skills.

Oh man, this guy is badass. He has very brief yet intelligent cristicism. Is not afraid to tell you what he thinks. But he is still very nice, and hot to boot. Going to his studio made me cry - very talented.
