Comment:

Dr. Welker knows his stuff and when he gets on tangents I wind up learning more then what I would in a lecture. For lower level business classes- don't take him cause he really only cares about econ and finance majors. The class format isn't very engaging but in my opinion he is the best in the business department.

Dr. Welker definitely knows what he is talking about with respect to macroeconomics however his teaching style was not helpful. Honestly if you just read the book, you'll do fine in the class. He moves quickly through notes on the board and is not helpful during his office hours. If you're not an online test person, this class is difficult.

Definitely a hard class, but I studied the material and got an A- in 201, and an A in 202. Welker is a genius...he knows his stuff, and makes lots of applications to current political/social situation. I have a lot of respect for him, and HIGHLY recommend taking his class. He may not have a reputation as an 'easy' proffessor, but he's the BEST prof

Welker get's a lot of hate on this site, but aside from being a little egocentric, he's very informative and he applies the material to personal experience. The test's are straight-forward and the online assignments are very challenging. Overall, he's better than most and people need to quit complaining, and hit the books son.

I have been out of college over 10 years, and when I look back at my college education, I still remember Michael Welker as one of the most arrogant and useless teachers I ever had. I had two classes with him - receiving the lowest grades in my entire undergrad college career. He cannot teach at the student level, ergo he should not be teaching.

I am paying out the rear to come to this school and am being treated like an inferior by Welker. He does not go out of his way to help anyone. Will not work with you to improve your grade if you made a mistake, and instead will label you as "one of those kids" like you are a economic statistic on the supply curve.

He definitely has an ego. He once even showed us his karate moves. Wonder if he knows how much I'm paying for school? Very poor attitude - acts like students are annoying. I once had a meeting with him. I was very respectful, but he never once looked me in the eye! Kind of rude. Take Zorice instead - much better.

Welker is a mediocre teacher. He seems intelligent but is dry to the point of being unbearable, and mildly self-centered to boot. He spent large portions of the class attempting to relate economic structures to Greek philosophy. Double meh.

Don't buy into the hype that he is brilliant. He spent too much time talking about his intelligence and grand investments rather than trying to teach the course. The only teaching he did was repeating the examples in the textbook and told us not record him because he 'owned' his lectures. Avoid him and learn the material from another prof.

If Welker is the closest thing to God on earth than his classroom should have been heaven on earth . . unfortunatey for me it was a living hell. Welker is extremely arrogant in the classroom and seems very disinterested in your academic success. He is a very intelligent person though. Tests and grades seem decided at his whim.

This professor was incredibly wonderful and has given me hope for the academic world. All of his classes were interesting and enjoyable. Of particular note was the way that he shut up unintelligent students, like those who left him negative ratings here. He also taught us how to tear people's kneecaps off, an asset in university life.

Sometimes it felt like he was the Enlightened One, and we were lucky that he was imparting his wisdom on us...but at least he was able to give us something to grasp on some very hard-to-grasp texts. And he's fun. (Martial arts before class.) And he has an amazing conversion story. :o)

In Honors class he goes off on huge tangents, but the class was fun and I learned a lot. His paper assignments are difficult, but you're better off after having done them.
