Dr. Bookman is a great professor for anyone who wishes to learn a lot about economics. She is very knowledgeable about the subject and brings real-world examples into her lectures. On occasion, she even brings in entertainment, such as movie clips, to share her insight that "economics is everywhere." If you pay attention, you'll learn a lot.

The tests were kind of hard and some were online and some were on paper. She enjoys teaching the subject. Overall she was okay and I would recommend.

Very boring class. She likes to bring up current events and politics which can make the material even more dry. She also makes you follow her on twitter and read articles she tweets. Three tests and some essays. Not too bad, just boring

Bookman is a solid choice for Macro and I'd def take her again. She lays out all the important points, brings in current events/politics and references real world articles that show the pertinence of class topics. End of the chapter review questions are helpful and tests aren't bad if you study. She's also approachable and very experienced

Worst class I've taken at SJU. Literally no idea how people give her such great reviews on here. She is an extremely, and I mean extremely, boring teacher with an antiquated teaching style. Tests aren't too difficult but man this class is incredibly dry. Would never take again.

The tests weren't bad, especially if you study a lot. Final was like the tests and was easier than I thought. Very nice teacher who loves what she does and knows what she is talking about. I would def take her.

Excellent class, Prof. Bookman takes attendance every day but she keeps her lectures interesting. Only a few assignments, and the tests were not too difficult if you take good notes.

Her lectures are very clear! She does a good job at explaining things and will answer any questions. She takes attendance everyday and weights participation heavily. She drops the lowest of the 3 exams but the exams can be tricky. The exam questions can trip a lot of students up. Never lets us out early but not too much homework. Mediocre class.

Dr. Bookman has experience that far exceeds that of most other economics professors. Only assignments are 3 tests, one of which she drops, and the final. Must attend a lecture on campus - so easy. Her tests are tough IF YOU DON'T STUDY. Skim the book, read the notes, look over the review questions, and you'll pass easy. DEFINITELY TAKE HER!!!

She really wants to see you do well and wants to see you succeed in the field of Economics. Only 3 tests and she drops one of them. All of them were pretty easy. She's very nice, understanding, and will give you help if you need it.

Bookman is such a sweet woman, but I will say off the bat - the tests are pretty tough and attendance is mandatory. 90% of your grade will be from the 3 exams (one of which is a drop) and the final being the 4th exam. Overall a great professor with a ton of knowledge and experience. Downside - no PowerPoints, all lecture. By no means an easy A.

Bookman is a great teacher and her class is entertaining. Attendance is mandatory and she drops the lowest test grade(3 tests). Tests are curved anyways and you have to really try to get below a B+. Overall very easy class.

Bookman is one of my favorite professors at SJU. Inspired me to take on a Finance/Econ double major. She is a great speaker and draws you into her lectures. Tests are curved which is nice. Her resume and experiance are quite impressive. Definitely take her if you can.

Absolutely love her. Teaches hard subjects but makes them simple. Curves tests. Has SO much education and experience that makes material interesting.. SJU is beyond lucky to have her. Breaks up her classes so 1:15 isn't bad.. not just lectures the whole time. Gives practice test for all chapters. Drops lowest test grade.

intelligent and knows what shes talking about. no attendance and teaches a lot from the textbook so you never have to go to class but if you go it is really helpful because she explains things VERY well. gives practice tests but they arent the same as the actual tests. tests are challenging but not impossible if you read and understand the book.

By FAR the easiest teacher I've had at SJU. There was a time where I did not go to class for literally 2.5 weeks, came for the review, studied for about 2 hours, and aced the exam. That being said...WORST teacher I've had at SJU. It makes me mad seeing my money pay for this woman's salary. She really does nothing and is kinda rude...but easy A

Bookman is fabulous. Couldn't ask for a more reasonable teacher. If you can read the textbook you can get an A. 3 multiple choice tests, drops lowest grade, and a final. Tons of experience, teaches econ very clear and applies it to every day life. I love her fabulous outfits too! Would definitely take her again.
