As far as Japanese Film goes, Professor Sas is the best: She knows the culture, language and is an expert on Japanese film and scholar work. She is enthusiastic, makes an effort to create a conversation and constantly gives feedback and praise. We got to make presentations on topics we chose, and had free choice of mid and final papers/projects.

She comes off with really good intentions. She checks in with the class. The problem is everyone was too scared to say how they actually feel about the class. I hated it and I love film theory-- how does that work? Wait until another professor teaches this. Seriously.

She is absent frequently. The ENTIRE course is based on group presentations. She speaks very rarely except to comment on the presentations given. Every single class, we listen to other students talk; it's more like attending a book-of-the-month club than taking a course at a world class university.
