Comment:
professor Bayoumi's class is very interesting and informative. He is more caring than most professors I've had at Brooklyn college and will help you make up work if you are falling behind. one thing i didn't like about the class was that he passed around our essays after he graded them for other students to critique it. besides that, its great.

Professor Bayoumi will make you write, and write a lot. But if you put in the work, he'll give you a good grade. This class will consume a lot of your time; it's tedious, not difficult.

The class was mostly boring but professor Bayoumi was easy going. The readings each week were very lengthy. The semester ends with a class final website on immigration and an in-class exam on certain topics he tells you about. Not bad of a class

He is an absolutely amazing professor with a lot to say. English majors will love him. Encouraged us to get creative with final project, weekly responses, encourages fruitful discussion about literary works pertaining to war. If you like discussing books and seeing things from a different perspective then take this class!

Extremely harsh grader, nitpicky, assigned 6 essays when most other professors gave 4, taught a lot of grammar which was helpful tho, but overall too much work and too hard and VERY POLITICAL

I took Dr. Bayoumi's Postcolonial Literature course at the graduate level when I attended Brooklyn College. He is a professor who inspired me and that I will never forget. I learned more in that course than any of the others that I have taken. I wish all professors were like him. You will have to read a great deal, but he makes it enjoyable.

I did not like how when he returned our papers, he read the bad ones out loud and criticized them in front of the class. It is not right for a professor to do that. Mediocre grader in a difficult class. He is a good teacher but the papers were diffucult.

Professor Bayoumi was a wonderful professor. He minimized lectures and encouraged class discussions. We read many immigrant narratives from a variety of countries--some who had emigrated to the UK and some to the US (the comparison between the two were discussed). The assignments for the papers were complex, but explained thoroughly.

He is an awesome and well versed prof. He is very approachable; however, if you are having trouble you must go to his office hours! On a lighter note, he seems to grade lightly and the workload is very very managable.
