Great professor, her modules are organized and what she wants from each assignment is clearly laid out. Discussions every week were not difficult, midterm and final require you to understand the information but are not too difficult. Final paper and group project that you work on over the whole semester were fun too. I would take her again.

A lot of online discussions and assignments, however, she is not a hard grader and they're pretty easy. There is one group final paper and one individual, which are really easy as well. The only thing she grades tough on are the mid term and the final, however, if you study the past discussions you should be good.

Really nice lady who clearly knows what she's talking about. There's quite a bit of work to do outside of class, especially towards the end, but it all mirrors what's on the tests exactly. Come to class and be involved in the discussions. If you're majoring or minoring in political science, I'd definitely recommend her.

I love Dr. Kursman. Best prof Ive taken at UMD. She knows her stuff inside and out. Lots of assignments, but theyre all exactly whats on the test. Lectures come from the book, so I didnt really read it (bonus!). Liberal bias, but its good to be exposed to different opinions.

I had Dr. Kursman for Poli Sci 101 and loved her so much that I took her for two other classes. She expects a lot from her students but is a fair grader and extremely personable. She was very understanding about some personal issues I was dealing with and extended my due dates.

Lectures could be boring and will put you to sleep. Fair grader, and gives very good feedback about assignments and papers. Only learned a handful of things from this internship class, most of it I already knew... Nice person. Very knowledgeable. Brought great guest speakers such as lawyers and politicians and that was maybe the most interesting.

Kursman is very kind. She cares about your success. Exams are essay and she outlines what to study before them. Notes are posted online that outline all the readings. Term paper is slightly difficult but she is able to help you if you go to office hours. Extremely liberal, which is to be expected. But not in your face about it.

She's a good teacher but she will shut down opposing viewpoints without hesitation. Instead of asking for a source and further explanation, she just says that you're wrong and moves on. Several papers, but they are not that difficult. The texts books are interesting, read the assigned chapters and you'll be fine.

I like her a lot. She has a nice personality. My advice would be read the citp thoroughly. Only thing i dislike is how few points she gives. Makes it easy to lower your grade if you don't meet most of her expectations. Study good for tests

Dr. Kursman is an amazing professor. She's one of the very few professors that you meet in your life who actually cares about your education. I enjoyed her class so much, in fact, that I'm taking her again this Fall. Assigns a term paper that may be a bit overwhelming at first, but she helps you every step of the way to get through it.

She's wonderful. There is homework just about every week but the material is simple readings and questions. There is a term paper but it was fairly simple and Kursman was available to look them over before turning them in. She doesn't shy away from any subject and is willing to listen to various opinions.

Dr. Kursman is a really nice lady. But her lectures can be very extensive and put you to sleep. She mainly teaches through lecture and sometimes shows you videos. She gives a fair amount of assignments that aren't too bad. She's a somewhat tough grader. There are 2 exams and 1 paper. If you have the opportunity, take her.

Nancy is a great professor and the head of the political science internship program. She'll make you work for your grade, but she's a fair grader. Very nice to talk to during her office hours too. I've taken several of her classes and did two internships and it was a great experience. Really like her teaching style. Highly recommended!

Kursman is a pretty good teacher. Can go off on tangents often, but class is still pretty interesting. Be sure to participate because she will grade tough on that at the end. Essay tests, but she grades pretty easy. If you know your stuff, you don't need to really attend class.

Grounded, down to Earth, and non partisan. She is very passionate about her teachings. Does not throw her own political views in your face or try and sway you left or right. Lectures are informative and fun! I've learned more in the two weeks of her class than I did in the majority of high school. There is a bit of homework but Its interactive.

Pretty great professor. She seems to really care about her students' success. She goes through her slides pretty fast but she posts them online so you can always go back and review them. USE THE NORTON WEBSITE TO STUDY FOR EXAMS. It will save you, trust me.

Nice professor. Pay attention, do the assignments and show up for class when it's mandatory and you will pass. Do NOT buy the books. I opened mine once and still got a good grade. Everything you need to know is talked about in class.

Great class. Service learning, requires volunteer hours but is not a demanding amount of hours. Lectures are clear, she posts an outline on ctools that you can follow along with. Midterm exam, final paper. A couple good documentaries. I haven't viewed gender in politics/media the same ever since. Take this class!
