Comment:

Neil Moura has no business teaching a communications class... taking him online will be the worst mistake you make while going to school. He is rude and unhelpful and unnecessarily tough on grading. There are much better teachers than him so spare yourself some regret and do not take his class. Hopefully someone reads this and avoids a huge mistake

Comment:

This is my second semester taking professor Neil Moura, I had taken him for my COMM220 class. Yes, he is a tough grader, however, making you work for your grade allows you to gain more knowledge and learn from your mistakes. I have been able to take so much from this class, even though my speeches aren't perfect, I've learned so much on presenting.

This class was very easy. Neil was a tough grader, but the assignments were not too challenging and the tests were not bad if you study. He is very knowledgeable and his lectures were great. However, you must be able to get past his extreme smug personality. He constantly talks about his divorce and is a bit of a pessimist.

Comment:

I was scared to take Moura but ended up taking three other courses with him as my professor! He is tough but fair. He does like the sound of his own voice, but what he talks about is important. His teachings have really improved my presentation skills that I now have used in other classes. It's not an easy class, but you will definitely learn.

He is the ABSOLUTE worst professor. I understand being a tough grader and to push your students he does not even remotely care to help or even be a teacher. Its sad that someone like him is still working at a community college where a lot of time people have a lot of outside obstacles. He is a power trip and sets his students up for failure.

He's a very tough grader and his class is setup to fail a student . . . He doesn't know how to communicate with his students and therefor it doesn't make sense for him to be a communication professor. In other words, he delays emails and sometimes will not answer. Passed the class with an A but it was a misery at its finest.

AVOID THIS TEACHER AT ALL COSTS. Gives 2 days to write papers, which is fine but when you have other classes to worry about, two days to write and make sure the paper has absolutely no mistakes in any shape way or form, pretty tough. I hope to never have him as a teacher again. Just do yourself a favor and avoid Mr. Neil Moura.

He needs to learn that the students are more important than him. He is arrogant, rude, and is not helpful at all. If you ask him a question or help he belittles you and treats you like your not good enough to be in his class. He spends more time talking about how students drop his class or they don't pass. School is stressful enough.

Very unfair grader. Doesn't want to help you on assignments. Lectures are super boring all he does is talk and talk. Don't take this class, it's basically a death camp. Doesn't even want to tell you why you got a certain grade on an assignment. Avoid him! If you're a comm major choose a different professor.

This class is honestly my biggest regret that I didn't drop it while I had the chance. This is a communications class yet we do everything but that. We sit there and listen to him read the book to us through a PowerPoint for an hr and a half. It sucks. Don't even know a single persons name in the class. It's so awk 10/10 would NOT recommend.

He is an extremely tough grader and will pick at every tiny little speaking mistake you make. Overall he did make me a better speaker but you have to go through 16 weeks of hell. The tests are based almost completely from the book which you never read except for the tests.

He grades entirely too hard. His lectures are directly out of the book but if you skip class, even if you do well on tests, he takes away 10% of your grade in participation points for missing 6 or more class hours. His assignments are questionable in clarity and no matter what, he doesn't care about personal issues.

Wouldn't recommend him. He is one of those professors that expects your work to be perfect if not he will give you a D or an F. It's literally impossible to get a good grade on the projects he assigns you. Don't choose him, trust me you will have a tough time.

I was a straight A student, before I took this class... For someone who teaches Communication he sure is lacking in it. I took the papers I wrote for the class to the writing center and was told they would easily get an A, not so much. I feel like he has a dart board with grades on it. He doesn't provide feedback on any assignments either.

I wish I had never taken this class. It was a total waste of time. I should have dropped it long ago. He grades the papers very harshly with no feedback whatsoever. His lectures are super boring and he doesn't even let us use our notes on the tests! He also blabs about his ex-wife too much! Choose a different teacher!
