such a gem. As mentioned in other comments, he has a tendency to go off on tangents, but he's so intensely passionate about the course material that you can't help but be interested as well. I just want to listen to this man speak for hours, I want to have Thanksgiving dinner with him and listen to him tell me about the Algonquin peoples

Absolutely the most boring lectures you could ever imagine. However, brilliant man, with a kind heart, and a mind that always seeks knowledge and truth. Love the environment and Gandhi. He is absolutely destroy your self esteem when it comes to writing. Very hard marker for written assignments in upper year classes.

Amazing professor. He has a tendency to 'go off on tangents,' which bothered some people, but the tangents he went off on were always super interesting!! He knows every aspect of his material inside and out and his passion for what he teaches is inspiring. Kind, gentle and positively brilliant man.

Sometimes the lectures were repetitive, and he was very critical on essays, but overall a fun class to attend, and he has great things to teach you. Do NOT skip reading the texts though, they are very essential for the discussion group. :D

Very helpful if you go outside class time. Seems like a clean type prototype of a professor, but actually has an interesting past which included dropping out to go to india or something. can drone on a little much. strict mechanics marker on essay. pleasent voice but not that exciting. knows his material very well. he's pretty adorable actually.

Awesome prof, awesome man. He's friendly, funny, helpful, smart. He's always available, even if it's just to chat. His voice is extremely relaxing and he has a way with words. Even when he gets side-tracked, I find myself learning a great deal. Salmond is an absolutly fantastic human being!
