She is tough but it is because she is trying to make you a better writer. If you are lazy, don't take her, it is not an easy A. If you are scared of constructive criticism, don't take her. She is so smart and I learned so much from her.

She is so critical of online submissions that I debated dropping the course and risking not graduating in May. Her criticisms are more insulting than helpful. I am very concerned about my GPA dropping solely because of her class. I enjoy challenging work and learning but this is excessive.

If i knew what i know now I wouldn't have taken her. The class is two weeks behind, She emailed the class saying she was going through health issues, it is totally ok b she also said to expect a load of work once she appears on Canvas which its really unfair for us. Disappointed so far!

Comment:

Great professor, very knowledgeable of subject. Three tests throughout the whole semester. Make sure you read all of her assigned readings and prepare before class starts, or you will be doomed when she calls on you. Tests can be extremely difficult if you do not review or have no knowledge. Discussion boards are sometimes used. Boring topics.

If you dont want to work, do not take her. If you want to learn a lot, take her. There are only 3 to 4 exams and a paper, PARTICIPATION IS HUGE. Just make sure you do the work and participate and she will love you. She will know if you are unprepared and will embarrass you, do the work and you will be fine. Overall, take her.

READ, READ, and come well prepared! She is very clear on what she wants and expects from the class. Can be intimidating at first but you will win her over by showing her you care about the class. She appreciates well thought out answers as well as questions. You will leave knowing something in her class.

She really is a great professor. For the people below who don't want to do any work or read any books, you shouldn't be in school. She is very helpful & does answer emails!! She actually wants you to learn and become a better student. If your in college just to hang out then you missed the point of receiving an education. She is also very funny!

Dr. Connolly cares about her students but is tough. She knows her stuff, is pretty funny, but also a bit intimidating . READ! She picks on students randomly for participation, and if she sees you did not do them, she will rip you a new one. Follow directions, listen carefully, ask questions if you're confused and you're golden.

She knows her stuff about the topics presented in class. She makes the topics really interesting. She is a pretty tough grader but lets just say without studying or cheating i still managed getting a A in the class even though i failed more then half the discussions. READ THE BOOK SHE CHOOSES ON EVERYONE. She hardly responds to emails!!!!!!!!

At first she can come off pretty intimidating but she's actually a really cool teacher who really knows her stuff, if you got a question she has an answer. Always read the book and participate or else she'll call you out. She's definitely a tough grader so I recommend really going over your work.

She's a great professor at first I didn't expect for it to be a good class but after a week she made me never want to leave. It's a great course to take, whatever class you decide to take she knows what she's talking about which makes everything easier to understand. She's super funny but at the same time she's about her business. This is college.

I loved Dr. Connolly. She will randomly call on you and if you don't know what to say (because you haven't read) she'll call you out on it. If you just read, and participate in class you will do fine. She doesn't even give a final because she said she herself hates them.

She's a great professor. She calls you out if you don't read and believe me, she will embarrass you, I know from experience. This is so great though because it motivates you to read and try your hardest. participation is essential and she is a very tough grader. Tests are okay, she doesn't put anything on there that she did not discuss in class.

She's one of the best teachers I had. It's college you have to read so do it. She will call you out if you didn't read and honestly that's what teachers should do. If you study, prepare for writing assignments, and read you'll get an A. She's also really funny. Overall great teacher I'd take her again for another class.

If you aren't willing to read every night, analyze, take your own notes, and notes in class, don't take the course. Very harsh grader, but easily the best professor i have ever had. Ive never pushed myself as hard as i did in her class. You can be called on at any second and you better know the answer or you WILL be embarrassed. Great challenge.
