I took Collier for his British Literature class this semester. It was meant to be an experimental class, and we did a big project that was difficult to complete. Stay on top of your reading. There were discussion board posts weekly. He had great discussions though, so long as you know the information and can contribute to the conversation.

Very good class, with a professor who knows a great deal on the subject. However, I found that a lot of the assignments were not well explained and perhaps unnecessary. Also, make SURE to read and participate in class and online in order to get the most out of this course!

Dr. C is great. He knows his stuff, too. He gives you a chance to revise your essays after he grades them, and gives EXCELLENT feedback. He leaves so many comments on you essays that you can tell he really does care. It's not the easiest class, but if you are willing to put in the work, you will surely reap the benefits.

Challenges students to think critically, originally, and to participate in class. He grades tough with essays, but you are allowed essay revisions and your writing will improve as a result of this class. Interesting, thought-provoking, not easy, but isn't that's the point? One of the best english profs at Ball State.

Extremely knowledgeable when it comes to literature. Has high expectations on papers and is a relatively tough grader, but offered the chance to revise all large assignments. His class may not be an easy A, but will improve your skills as a writer.

Extremely knowledgeable, excited about his field, and very willing to meet outside of class to help with essays and papers (which will be a large portion of your grade). He's very easy-going and a great teacher. I would definitely take another class from him.

Obviously very knowledgeable about literature and films. However, I feel he expected all of us to already be on his level with film knowledge. Many were TCOM students and were right there with him, but I struggled and never really got it. He really wants you to participate in class; I'd recommend it.

Met with me 4 or 5 times to help me on papers and understanding the theory. I was afraid in the first couple weeks but then I started to understand. Now I can't watch movies wthout thinking of the stuff we learned in class. Great class, great teacher.

He should not be teaching: biased and unprofessional. A bit **** (against women), but knows the research surrounding the books. Not very helpful, and, honestly, not very hard or very good when compared to other BSU profs. I'd recommend avoiding him altogether (he doesn't have time to make himself available outside of class).

He will bend over backward to help you, then give you a D because he doesnt like you. This type of person should not be teaching. I can honestly say that his ties the top of the list for my worst class ever. Everyone should avoid him at all costs.
