He is one crazy dude. One of the most interesting professors I've ever had. Quizzes are tricky, but if you attend every class you'll get at least a B+ in the class. Grading scale very fair. The only way you'll get a "minus" is if you have the grade below and he thinks you deserve a "minus" of the grade above. good luck

Great class. Learned plenty about AM, FM, SSB, DSB, etc. The projects take time but are straight forward. The midterm was similar to old exams, but the final was completely new. Still, he curves nicely on the final.

Comment:

Dr. Crilly is an awesome teacher. I learned a ton and the class wasn't boring at all. This was by far the easiest engineering class I have taken so far. I didn't put in that much time outside of class as I learned almost everything during class. The material is not that hard if you've had PHYS 231 and it repeats itself a lot. Overall great teacher.

Professor great, understands the material and explains it well in class, the book and the homework are completely useless however. The book, the homework and the lectures are completely independent, each having nothing at all to do with the other. Tests are easy, all you have to do is study old tests as questions reappear year after year.

His writing is illegible, and his "real world examples" are all based on HAM radio and other outdated technologies. He should retire and let someone who stays with current technology take over.

I hate the idea of him giving only ONE midterm in the semester...makes it easy to fail his class. Interesting material and he gives real world examples, which is good. He's readily available for extra help when needed.

He counted a paper we had to write the first day of class as 20% of our project grade. He said it wouldn't count but changed his mind later. He didn't like my opinion stated in the paper. My grammar was fine and the topic was how "We Think" a computer works. All my grades in the class were B+ to A+ except this one paper. I got a B! Unprofessional
