He has quizzes everyday from the lesson before and he will drop your 3 lowest quiz grades. They are very easy and the questions on the test are the same questions from the quizzes. He is very boring, I have him for an 8am and I want to fall asleep. His class is very easy though and he thoroughly explains the material.

Comment:

Prof. Rickard is a great man personally, but not as a teacher. He assumes you already know what he is teaching so he doesn't explain anything. Don't even bother doing the homework, he NEVER checks it, just asks if you have any questions. He gives a quiz every day in the beginning of class. I literally had 12 people in my class, so he knew our names

I think he's an excellent teacher. If you do the work and pay attention then you'll do fine. Most of the people that don't like him are lazy and just talk throught out the class. If your willing to do the work, he'll work with you.

He's rude, and will call you out in class about your grades. He'll never e-mail you back to answer your question..He always wants to be right, even when the whole class says he's wrong. He insults kids in class and he's careless when it comes to teaching. If you ask for him to explain something he'll explain it the same way he did the first time.

I got an a in that class but i would recommand him to NO ONE he is the type of teacher who must always be right if he says what is the circumfrance of a circle n u say Pi times diameter he will say no its pi times 2r which is the exact same thing... he is rude n sarcastic...He always talks out of topic... he talkes about scienfield a lot

If you don't have to take a class with him, then don't. The class corrects him more than he helps us. He expects you to know everything, including what he doesn't mention. He is bland, and dull. He teaches to show you what he knows, not to help you learn more. I'm going to fail because of him. Even my worst math teachers have not been as horrible.

If math is a challange for you do not take this class. He expects you to know it the second he writes it on the board. Very little review and teaches straight from the book. Exams are very difficult and grading is average. Seems like a nice man but also seemed like he would rather shove bamboo up his nails than teach this class.

Well we learned Visual Basic...actually he attempted to teach VB, I should say. Very unclear most of the time, and very vague with descriptions of things. Just expected us to "get it", ya know. Late repeatedly, in his office NOT helping during every lab, and just too lax of a teacher for the material. Can't imagine what he'd be like for math class.

Horrible teacher.When you head the math department at a college I dont think you should have to do problem 5 times on the board before getting it right.Students in the class have to let him know what he is doing wrong in the problem.Grades poorly.I am a math major and have to take the class over since he is such a bad teacher.Avoid at all costs

I was to have another professer for the class, however he took over. He degrades our class. he says since nobody has questions about the homework I guess nobody did the homework. I hate to say but I do the homework assignments. try to avoid if must. doesn't grade fairly. simple mistake totally wrong

Mr. Rickard is a very good teacher. He knows what he is talking about and explains everything very clearly. He assigns a good amount of work and he is very fair in his grading. I would recommend him .
