When I got to college I wasnt sure what level I was on.. I started at intro and moved to the second course within a week. At first the pace was scary but then it was easy to get used to. He gives weekly quizes and his tests are a little hard. (they definitly could have been worse). Really nice guy. MUST BUY BOOK BEFORE CLASS STARTS!!!!

He is very monotonous and tries to be funny and fails. The homework assignments are always the same and don't teach you anything. He calls on the same people to read aloud and answer questions all the time. Also, if you don't know conjugations and verb/adjective endings then you're in trouble the whole semester.

Okay well lets see here. Yells at you for talking BEFORE class. Stops the entire class if you drop your book to tell you "please keep a hold of your book". If you ask him a question he does not answer the question you ask but something entirely different. Teaches Directly from the book. Treats you like your in high school. Try not to take!

His alright. I have never taken German before and I am doing pretty well i nhis class, but he is so boring. He rambles on about the most unimportant things. He tries to be funny but it doesn't really work. I wouldn't suggest anyone take him. He's old, can barely see, and teaches right out of the book. He knows German but can't teach at all!!!

He is such a grumpy old man, yells at you for coming in late, going to the bathroom, sneezing, coughing, anything. he is totally fluent in german, and goes over everything so fast, you would think you were too. i would never take another class from this guy unless it was mandatory

Sullivan is an excellent teacher if you follow his syllabus and treat him with respect - he will treat you the same. monotone but enthusiastic & knows what he is teaching. To understand the straight from the book material, take in book notes & come to class with some german knowledge. take sullivan's class

Do not take him unless you want to have a horrible semester. He knows german very well but he cannot teach it to save his life. He reads straight out of the book so if you can't learn a language just from reading a textbook...don't even try to take him. He makes me want to stab myself in the ears.

Excellent teacher, very nice guy. Has a funny sense of humor, some get a kick out of it, some don't. His helpfulness surpases anyone at IUP. To fail this class, you have to want to.

Funny German man!! Good teacher but a little on the strict side. Homework has to be turned in every class and he takes attendance and will **** if you miss a lot of classes but he's a great prof, and you'll learn a lot in his classes.

I love him! If you're having any trouble at all, just go to his office hours or the tutors (which he reminds us about everyday). He is very helpful. He's like the strict German grandpa i never had.

He's a very nice guy and good teacher. I definitely recommend him over Brode if given the choice. However, Brode is very anal... make sure to never talk when he is talking, or leave the room at any point in time after class has started.
