Comment:
Worst math Professor I ever took. Please do not take him unless you have to, because you will have to teach yourself from reading entire textbook which is not well written either. He will literally read math off of PowerPoint slides or PDFs word by word, with no explanation. Then solves few problems with mouth shut & not looking back whole time.

One of the most difficult classes to study for by far, even with access to old exams. He will teach one thing then put another on the exam. Make one minor mistake and you get several points off. The average was typically failing on each exam. I made 1 A, 1 B, a D on the exams. Do not know what I got on the final since he refuses to use blackboard.

I had to take him because it was the only class still open for Intro to PDE, and i heavily regret not waiting a semester, he is a horrible professor, he never explains what he is writing on the board and barely looks at the class through out, emailing him for help is also a waste of time.

Don't take him. Not only are his lectures are insanely long, he doesn't help with students actually understanding the material. I have emailed him a number of times asking for help with homework and he gives one sentence replies that do not help. He isn't worth the stress I had for this class.

The class was not difficult. But wasted my time. He didnt help at all. Just writing theory in the book or reading slides which any student can do at home. Hard grader. Small mistake and get no credit. I played phone and taught myself. Still get an A

Walker is the worst lecturer I've ever seen. He will write in illegible cursive with his back turned, and then when he finally does talk it is in a quiet mumble that is very difficult to understand. He (sometimes) posts his notes, but I ended up having to teach myself all of the material. If possible, avoid at all costs.

I would not take Dr. Walker again. Most classes we never even did any math problems--the majority of the time it was all lecture. The lectures are not particularly helpful, just theorems and definitions that are functionally useless without seeing the practical application of them. I'm walking away from this class feeling like I learned nothing.

Lectures were worse than useless, he's the worst lecturer I've ever had. Proofs were on the tests. Tests are graded very harshly. The book is also no help.

Really soft talker usually toward the white board, and writes in tiny cursive. Teaches 95% theory, then the test is completely application. Answers questions by repeating what he just said, usually not answering the question.

Curve NOT guaranteed. There was certainly no curve for 3363 Spring '16. Test Qs are reasonable but there's NOT enough time on the exams to answer questions in enough detail to satisfy his harsh grading. I flew through the tests but still didn't finish on all Qs. Averaged mid-80s and was probably one of the highest in the class, but still got a B.

Walker is NOT a good teacher but if you are the kind that likes to study by yourself you could use his class to ur advantage. There are 13 quizzes that have to be done online for all e-math classes, other teachers give a lot of homework (EMCF's). Walker only assigned us with 4. Also you don't have to come to class. he doesn't take attendance.

Not the best at explaining during the lectures, but is helpful outside of class. Recommend studying old exams and quizzes, and teaching yourself. Not a lot of time on the tests so be prepared.

Classes were pretty useless. He just writes text and examples from the textbook and you can't even understand what he says. If you just read the textbook and do the quizzes you're gonna be fine. Tests were easy and fair though.

His test needs a VERY GOOD memorization on the reviews he gave. The test could be very hard if you don't memorize his review questions. But worry none, cause he curves SUPRE HARD. I got 60, 80 ,60, 70 on his class and still get an A

Professor Walker is not going to be much help. So teach yourself. Do as many problems as you need to understand each subject thoroughly. The tests and quizzes are all timed and you will use every second of time on almost every one of them. So practice a lot. Speed is a must to get an A in this course.

Very dry and boring lectures. His examples on the board end up being theory from the textbook a majority of the time. Only a few examples are shown over topics. Really, just study from the book and work example problems in there and you'll be fine.

Not a great professor, I think because of his age. He usually makes his tests like his old tests but I think he found out that we were just memorizing the old tests posted online. He removed the online old tests and the only way you could pass his tests is if you have a dropbox with the old tests. He does give like a 30 point curve on final grades

He is not a good teacher. But I would recommend taking him for Emath because you dont need to go to class as long as you have the dropbox with old tests and quizzes. Just study the old tests and do the quizzes and your set for the class. He will not teach you but the subject is not too hard and you can manage to teach your self.

Gives four homework assignments for the entire class and returns them graded 2-3wks later. Lectures are riddled with errors and are canned (memorized, rather badly at times (errors), I might add). IF you can wait a semester to take PDE then do that instead or study this class like it's your only class (like that's reasonable)..
