Comment:

Case studies were given w/no guidance. Only time you'll ever see/hear from him is day papers are due. Seems to enjoy the gotcha moments after papers are turned in and you realize you omitted things you never knew to include. Grading is harsh, peer review surveys are only used as a tool to lower grades. Luckily only 40% of grade and rest is easy

Dr. Paul is very passionate about his field and enjoys what he does, this class is a class that has 3 professors, Dr. Drake, Dr. Furner and Dr. Paul and each one is responsible for a different area of the course. Dr. Paul held the lectures for the seated section which are recorded for the online section. Do your Work and you will do fine.

This class is a non-event. You learn almost nothing. It's propped up by group-based case studies that have minimal connection to the text, lectures or concepts. Team- taught, online students have poorly structured Saba sessions, and still have to watch recorded lectures, which aren't much better. Would be a waste of time if not mandatory.

I'm not sure, but I believe he's the only teacher of this class in this university. I don't do this rating system this often, but he was alright. Before you judge his character because he's a tough grader, get to know him. He seems to know a wealth of information. He might tell you where you might be wrong, but be open to positive criticism.

Dr. Paul is one of the best mentors I have had in my life. He pushes you to critically think. Without taking this course I do not think I would be where I am today in my professional career. If you are a BSBA-MIS Major and you are serious about opportunities after graduation this professor is KEY to your success.

Overall great professor, very hard class, but you learn so much! Yes, he can be condescending, but is also very helpful & wants you to succeed. Mid-term/final are kinda hard. HUGE course-long team project broken into 4 parts. Seek out good team members ASAP or you will HATE this class. 4 team project presentations 10 minutes total each. Need book.

Best college experience so far. Dr. Paul is amazing. He wants you to succeed in his class and in the business world after graduation. This class will push you a little. However, the work is worth the effort.

By far the best Professor I have had at East Carolina in 4 years. It's a privilege to be required to take his course. Although this class has a heavy workload Dr. Paul is always available to help. Come to class everyday, take notes, and engage and you will do fine. Also make sure you pick dependable group members

Comment:

The worst professor I have had at ECU. Huge ego and condescending towards the students. If you ask a question he just tells you to read the text again. The group work is a total pain and a huge waste of time. His lectures go on forever and unfortunately most of his test questions come from there. Avoid taking this man for any class if possible.

Hard to understand, grades very hard, and gets an attitude very quickly. He thinks you should understand the material as soon as he teaches it, and if you turn in homework, let's go ahead and assume that you'll make an 80 even though you know you did really good. Believe me, it will not be what he wanted.

He was 1 of the 4 teachers for my MIS 6713 online class. Unfair graders in this class. Grades your case work based on how others did their cases. Class was stupid. With 4 teachers you didn't know who to contact for what. It was a mixed class with ONLINE AND FACE TO FACE. Not designed well and not a good class overall. Could have learned a lot more.

This is a tough class based on a comprehensive team project. Prof Paul lays it out clearly. He's always available to answer questions and does so cheerfully. He expects a lot, but shows you exactly what he's expecting. Watch out for the presentation coach, O'Dor, he'll give you absurd advice, but you have to follow it or your grade will suffer.

Dr. Paul was a fantastic teacher who pushed my class in ways we were never pushed before. There is a reason that he has been awarded so many teaching awards and also representing the MIS graduating classes for so long. He is amazing, but if you take his class expecting to just, get a grade or breeze through, you will be in for a rude awaking.

Took this class in a D.E. Summer Session. Quite a bit of work and fast paced. if you do the work, you will be fine. There are 4 discussion forums which are a little long, the tests are 2 multiple choice and 1 hands on for excel and access (open book/notes). Ravi is very helpful, ask questions and attend the centra sessions

I took this class online & while it was tough I really enjoyed the class. We had 4 discussion forum posts, 2 were more complex than others. There were 3 cases which were group assignments. These cases were on Excel, Access, & the final case was a report. 3 exams - 2 multiple choice & 1 on Excel & Access. Do the work & you will get a good grade.

Took as DE class. Tough grader. There were group projects, tests, and discussion board material. Be prepared to work a lot, but you will learn a lot too. He recorded his actual lectures from a non DE class so we could watch those, which helped
