Comment:

Before taking his courses, I was a decent writer. He took what I thought was good and showed me how wrong I was, before showing me what I needed to do to make it truly great. He cares deeply for his students and wants nothing more than for them to succeed and achieve their goals. He is tough, but fair -- and I can't recommend him enough.

Comment:

I took Dr. Foster for GSTR 110 and had to take him again even though I'm not a History major. I like his style of teaching and he really cares about both his subject and his students. As far as his "tendencies" I've never personally seen or heard that he's crossed a line. I've never seen proof of any misconduct.

Completely overrated here. He tries to be popular with students but teaches in a narrow area that only he is interested in. Really into himself and a bit too interested in female students

Comment:

Foster is one of the rare professors that can spark anyone's interest in a topic. He will improve your writing and teach you more than you thought you could learn. He is tough but I highly recommend taking his classes.

Comment:

Unlike many professors who are passionate about their studies, Dr. Foster does an amazing job with students who have little to no interest in the course or subject. Instead of being offended by disinterest he cultivates interest. Tough course to take for just a perspective, but I learned more about writing AND history in this course.

Love his lecture style. Very organized, clear and keeps the subject interesting. Only problem I had is that sometimes what he will test on is unclear. Love his class tho, highly recommend it.

I took his Japan class just to get the international perceptive, didn't read the books, but he really got me excited about it. Lectures are very well structured and he is very helpful- I was very surprised how much I learned! Take him if you have the chance, you will not be disappointed

Comment:

History 406 lost a few students along the way, testament to the fact that Foster is pretty tough. I believe all of the survivors would agree that the course was a blast and moreover that Foster is a hottie. The earring and the parakeet tie are 'da bomb.
