I think Dr. Kennedy may have retired, but despite an amiable rivalry with other Computer Science teachers at Massasoit, he was a great teacher. Not lecture heavy, relying more on 'lab' time than lecture, made his classes the ultimate in hands-on coding classes. He was the best at teaching by doing.

He is a great teacher. Caution: the people on here giving the bad reviews are the students that don't like to try very hard in school. Professor Kennedy is a great teacher with very thorough explanations. The only problem is that he is very soft-spoken, so you have to pay extra attention or you will miss a detail.

I don't get the bad reviews. I really enjoyed professor Kennedy. I am a mature learner so I put in the effort. He is smart and quirky - I really appreciate that. He was more than fair. Set clear expectations and stuck with them. Allowed you to repeat things and provided help when asked. Sit up front, pay attention and keep up.

Lowered easiness score to reflect the fact that he has mandatory attendance for all classes, despite his borderline useless lectures. Seems like he knows the material well enough, but at best he's past his prime - interest level is for his class in particular, not for the subject matter in general. The man is just boring and can't really help much

Horrible teacher. Doesn't even know his class start-end dates. He will give you tons of assignments but won't teach what you need to know to complete them. Don't take his class if you want to learn. Can barely hear his boring and unhelpful lectures. I honestly don't even know how he has a job, hes seriously that bad. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Took him for Windows-Word-Excel last semester, he was easily one of the WORST teachers I have ever had. If you don't know the material, good luck passing, because he doesn't teach. You can barely hear him, and he just dully and horribly explains how to do commands, and he gives 12+ hours of book assignments per 1 credit. Ridiculous! Needs to retire

I've had 2 classes with him and he's patient, helpful, and amusing. He uses real-world examples, lets you fix and resubmit assignments, and will patiently repeat chunks of lecture for disrespectful students who ignore him and then make him repeat (ie, the people giving negative reviews about him here). Soft spoken so sit in front or middle of rm.

Absolute horrible teacher. the fact this guy receives a paycheck says enough about Massasoit. He mumbles and gets mad if you ask questions or ask him to repeat himself. R Kennedy should hang it up.

Great teacher. Show up, listen up, and do your assignments. If you do all that, I don't know how you can't get an A. Open book/take home tests make it impossible to do bad. Will treat you with respect if you are there to learn. If you don't wany to learn the class, don't bother signing up. Highly recommend. He can be quiet, so sit up front.

Professor Kennedy is a solid check to you. He backs down from no one. He knows is stuff, but should refresh on teaching. He has his way and wants it his way. Friendly, but not afraid to flunck.

Read some bad reviews on here and I don't get it. Prof. Kennedy is great. He IS soft spoken, but will readily come over to you if you need help. He informs you of what all of the assignments will be for the course on the first day so you can work at your own pace, and if you get them in early enough, he will let you do them over for a better grade.

This guy is a real jerk, he is boring, nasty and gets upset if you miss 1 assignment. If you do not label the homework his way he takes off points. His lectures are sleep inducing, he called me lazy and troublesome all because I wanted something explained, makes snooty remarks constantly under his breath, avoid at ALL costs.

He goes off into tangent land on occasion, but teaches solidly. I very much enjoyed his style. The one thing to remember in BK's class is to pay attention to him. If you drift you can get lost quick.
