Comment:
Dr Kibler is a bit of an acquired taste, but hes really a great guy. Hes extremely knowledgeable in all things literature. My biggest issue with him is that hell often go on tangents only somewhat related to the topic, but it IS related to the topic and its usually pretty interesting. One of the most intelligent professors Ive had.

Arrogant and lazy. I took his ENGL110 class and got a good grade; decided to take ENGL120 with him again, and it's the absolute worst mistake. Why? EVERY CLASS HAS BEEN EXACTLY THE SAME AS ENGL110 TO A T. SAME BOOKS, SAME PAPERS, SAME LECTURES. He makes it seem as though his opinion is THE ONLY opinion that matters. Absolute worst teacher.

Genius. Storyteller. Orator. Original. Modern. Comic. A Man. A Figure. Invested. Efficient. The Wise Old Man. Conscious and Unconscious. Human. Critical. Artist. Chief. The O.G. Passion, energy. A man of will, great-will. Because of his use in many things, time with him is often too short. His spirit lives through others.

Although he is very knowledgable on the topics that he teaches, he is not knowledgable or skilled in teaching. Unless you are only an auditory learner, I HIGHLY recommend to avoid taking a class from him at all costs. He will talk constantly through the class and a great portion of that won't make much sense. He usually goes over class time.

The books he assigns are pretty dull and a lot of people have trouble keeping up with those because they are much too extensive. However! If you listen to his lectures and take notes, he will pretty much break down every book for you. Definitely a silver fox. greeks and romansinteresting. books assigned i have no idea what i just read.

Comment:
Easy enough class, lectures are awful. It's fine for professors to go on tangents, but at least make them interesting. Arrogant and condescending. He seems to find himself very fascinating (don't ask me why). Likes to unload his uninteresting and unoriginal musings in class, presumably because he has a captive audience and nobody else will listen.

He has to be one of my favorite professors. He makes sure the material is clear and if you ask he will gladly answer. His lectures do get a little confusing because he jumps around in time frames but if you take notes there's no reason to worry. Don't buy the textbook but get the novels everything is derived from them. Study dates. You'll be fine.

He expects his students to be mind-readers. Sorry but if you don't state when the project is due, you might not get them all back in time! Terible! Unorganized and worthless!

Constantly late for class, not prepared. I received my Eng. Degree from MSU and had Dr. Kibler for several classes. This is how I feel about him: disorganized, ill-prepared, brillant person, teaches from lesson plans he wrote (and memorized 10 years ago) but has not done any preparation for the class he is currently late for. Girls think he is cute

Not terrible, but I thought his use of "cultural coupons" in upper level classes to be kind of insulting. Grade based on work, not on attendance to other functions!

Dr. Kibler is a rather confusing lecturer, due to his disorganised manner, but he is passionate about the subject matter and willing to adjust his classes to the interest of the student. Often unclear in what he wants, but also willing to take just about a
