A truly great professor. He encourages class participation. His grading criteria is clear, everything is in the syllabus. Not a lot of homework, he allows retest and has extra credit assignments if needed. I would love to take his class again as he makes all of the classes interesting.

First week or two is very confusing as his syllabus is very unclear and he does not like to nor does he explain himself well. He likes to relate the lectures to unnecessary topics and expects answers for odd questions. He really likes pushing a liberal/ anti-religion agenda and ridicules students for any and everything. 0/10 would not take again.

He's a very funny/weird teacher. Can't take him seriously. Primer was so overwhelming, but don't get frightened. Attendance is MANDATORY, or you will have to do chap. questions. Grading is very weird. You HAVE to participate in class, It will help you out. Gives extra credit. Tests are okay. If you get offended easily, don't take him.

I loved this course! It's a shame is he doesn't teach any other courses I need for my degree. He expects only the best from each individual. Participate. Read before class . Pay attention to his lectures... It helps you to understand most theories.

Gives tons and tons of opportunities for extra credit and points. Tests are exactly like the learning objectives he assigns and if you are absent, you're required to do the LO's as a makeup for that chapter. He's really helpful and kind, but doesn't tolerate laziness. Answers emails quickly and is clear about instructions and due dates.

While Dorsett was an incredibly easy professor, I definitely recommend sitting in the front of the classroom because he talks quietly. He goes off on rants, and the only way I was able to follow lecture was by having the book. Without it, I was SO lost. I'm not saying you have to read ahead, but it is necessary to bring to class.

If you're a Republican and you're not will to maybe change the way you think, don't take this class, if you're a christian, I'd think before taking this class. If you don't hear well, like me, sit near the front, he speaks rather quiet. It's easy to get a good grade if you participate a lot, if not, be prepared to do lots of extra credit.

Professor Dorsett expects you to be in class because that is what you should do as be doing as a student. If you participate, you will get an A, and if you aren't the type to talk in class, he has plenty of options for extra credit that you are free to do whenever. He is a great professor. His class is always entertaining and informative.

You have to read the book and the chapter outlines BEFORE each class to understand lecture! Answering questions he asks gives you points you need to make an A. Good professor, just try to say away from mentioning anything psychology or he gets upset. Don't be late and make sure to take the optional exam!!

This guy really knows his stuff, he is like Karl Marx, or Max Weber as your teacher. His syllabus is really confusing, but you donĂ¢€™t need it. You are guaranteed to pass, just don't mention the 2 R's. Republicans and Religion. Overall he is a excellent professor. For a old guy he is really funny too.

Professor, syllabus, and the information give in the first few weeks is extremely confusing but the class is simple. Do as much extra credit as possible, it is worth it. Show up to class AND DON'T BE LATE or he will throw a fit. Opinionated and honest about his views so doing go into class with thin skin.

You have to show up and show up for tests or he will drop you. He grades by points and you really have to do tons of extra credit to get a really good grade. All you do is read the book so make sure you actually read it. Do as many presentations as you can and prepare yourself. Barel

This class is an easy A. He gives lots of different ways to earn extra credit. That being said he has a very slanted view on many things which is fine but this may get on your nerves if you are thin skinned. I had to take it. You do not have to go to class if you study the book and follow his syllabus. He is more than fair.

Stay on his good side, be on time to class. Do not take his online class. Look interested and he will pass you. (That means go to his after hours office) His test are hard but he offers a lot of other work that you can do, and you don't have to do all of it to pass.

I struggled to understand some of the requirements at 1st. Prof. Dorsett gives a lot of chances to earn extra credit in this class and that is how I was able to earn the A but had to put in a lot of extra hours. He only had office hours 1 day/ week but responds to email regularly. He also rambles over the phone but is very willing to help.
