Sandra is the sweetest, she is very responsive, and gives feedback on your assignment right away. This class calls for a lot of work, but none of it is difficult, its more opinionated and busy work. 1 final paper, a couple quizzes, and a bunch of small assignments. Just watch your grammar, a lot of her grading is based on grammatical errors.

You are in for lots of reading and independent research. Assignment work load is out of this world but on the bright side you have many opportunities to redeem. yourself. Submission are excessive 3-4 each week and assignment are thought plus time consuming to complete. Its the hardest A I had to earn but she is a nice and helpful lady that cares.

UGH! Why do we have people like this teaching at our school? Sandra is very short tempered, unapproachable, thick headed, and COLD. In all actuality she is quite frankly very unpleasant to be around. It is winter all year round in this lab...

Had her for lab. Very nice but directions weren't always clear in regards to what she wanted. Very friendly though and will treat you with respect. It's obvious she loves what she teaches, her excitement contagious. Labs aren't difficult, but non-science majors find them to be so.

Can't stand her. She gives out grades randomly and doesn't teach. She gets frustrated if you don't understand and treats the students like they are stupid (you're not stupid just for asking a question!). She talks very slowly with long pauses in between sentences - to make sure you are following her. I would die before taking a lab with her again

Breath of fresh air compared to Elwess! Fun, enthusiastic, will help you when you ask - Cares about her students! Understands student needs and will do whatever she can to help you along the way. W/o Latourelle this class would be torture! She puts the fun back into genetics that Elwess sucked out, amazing woman!

There was a lot of work, and you had to make sure you budgeted your time. The class material was interesting, but I would have liked to have seen more of the biology end of things in relationship to the movies. If this class is offered again, consider taking it. It will make you look at movies in a whole new way.

She makes you feel like she's talking to a four year old. She and Dr. Elwess are never clear on what they want you to do for labs, but expect you to know it. SHe is helpful,though, if you ask for it.

If you are even considering becoming a science teacher, TAKE THIS CLASS! Latourelle is exactly what a teacher's teacher should be, she is fast paced, gives relevant assignments, has real world contacts to share, and WILL teach you how to teach science. Way nicer in this class than in Genetics too. Treats you like you're already a professional.

hahaha. thumbs down. I don't know what else to say. She makes you feel stupid, but its almost like she doesn't know she's doing it. I think she was an elementary teacher before she came here, and she thinks she still needs to talk to us like she's...teaching elementary children.

No good, friends. No good at all. Rude, odd, and very..uncomfortable. I don't know how many times I felt as if I'd been reduced to a pre-teen in her presence. She doesn't teach, she drones on. and on. and on. and then smiles at you with these big, frightening eyes.

She will never ever ever tell you that you did a good job, her idea of motivation is to talk down at you and tell you that you're doing everything wrong. Around Elwess, she's sweet and funny... otherwise she's cold and mean. Just stay out of her way and you'll be ok.

She is very bad. I've never had a teacher like her. Perhaps in kindergarten. She thinks she is so wonderful. She is very belittling and pretentious. She only likes students that elwess likes. I don't know how she won a teaching award.
