(Note: If this is the same Scott Thompson who is now teaching at Columbus State Community) Very pleasurable person. A bit fidgety, but you get the sense that he really cares whether or not you are learning. He goes out of his way to help outside of class. Difficult, but only because he really tests whether you understand. Great professor.

He takes some getting used to. He's very fidgety, you just have to ignore it. He's a good teacher. Go to his office hours anytime, but deff before test and quizzes. He wants you to learn and wants you to do well. He doesn't take attendance and is a nice guy.

Drop the class if at all possible. Half the class failed this class. He is really distracting b/c he fidgets all the time. The stuff on the tests are completely different then what we go over in class...

He gives take home and in-class quizzes that you work your butt off on, and then they are worth very little overall in your grade. If you really study hard for the tests, you may be fine in the class. The main problem is that ONE low grade on a TEST and you may be in trouble; they are worth a lot.

Wow his tests are impossible... doesnt go by the book and gives quizzes it seems every day...To make things worse, he thinks up of the questions out of nowhere and they are nothing like what you do in class. if you get him drop before the class starts... trust me on this

Over half the class failed, does not offer any curve. Calculates grade to the ten thousandths place and does not round at all. Take class with someone else who is passionate about helping students learn and not just showing them what he can do.

I took this class instead of Algebra, because I'm terrible at math and this was the lower level. I thought the fact that Thompson spoke clear English would help too. I was sooo wrong! The class was impossible. I worked my butt off for a C.

not a very clear teacher, doesn't go from the book to much either, his tests are hard because he thinks the problems out of thin air

To his credit, he is a nice guy and he speaks English unlike most of the Math department. But this class was freakin impossible. Tests were sooo much harder than what we went over in class and there was never a curve even when half the class failed.
