Sharon is a fantastic Prof. for all kinds of reasons. the thing that's probably the best is that she is easy, but really helpful. pretty much if you want an easy A, take her, but If you go in actually wanting to learn Spanish, you will!!! it's pretty much a choose you own level of difficulty. I wish I would have gone on to SP103 though :(

S. Shirley is one of my favorite instructors, she cares deeply for her students and makes learning Spanish fun. Moreover, Sharon has loads of experience and will give you confidence in learning to speak the language. Lastly get ready to laugh because she has a great sense of humor and loves the energy of her students. I will miss her class much.

Took SPN 101 in Fall 18. I have taken Spanish classes in the past and had difficulties understanding sentence structure and word use. She makes that all pretty simple and I feel I have a strong foundation to build from to continue learning Spanish. I would recommend her to students who want to learn Spanish but have reservations or struggled before

Shirley's great, although she's pretty lenient, which sounds good, but was occasionally frustrating. Test dates and due dates would get moved around a lot. Other than that though, she was great. She has hilarious stories, great memorizing tools, but most of all, she really cares about her student and would do anything to help you pass.

Great teacher. Passionate. It was a hard class and a little disorganized at some points, but over all was informative. Nice and funny lady.

Comment:
Horrible. Asks nothing of students in terms of learning, but makes even the simplest things difficult because she is so disorganized. Be prepared to turn in homework multiple times before it gets counted (and then have it marked late when it's finally recorded). Badmouths her colleagues. Often rude/inappropriate. Save yourself the annoyance.

She is a very fun, engaging professor. She loves Spanish culture so her lectures often stray from strictly textbook material Spanish and intertwine with personal information from her many experiences abroad in the Spanish-speaking world. She is always willing to help and she is hilarious! Her personality makes the class. She wants you to succeed.

Maybe a little too easy - she doesn't require much homework to be turned in. On the other hand, we all like the take-home tests. Euphemism for open-book-no-time-limit. I just wish some of the other students would get a little more serious.
