Comment:

Stacey Burks is a great professor! If you are engaged during class time and do your homework, there is no reason not to pass. She is always willing to help you understand what you dont. There is homework everyday, however it does help a lot to do it. Doing the homework is great practice for the tests and quizzes.

Comment:

This is a hard class. However, as long as you pay close attention during lectures, take notes, and do all the homework, things should go pretty smoothly. Memorize and follow all the rules. I barely read the book and everything worked out. Cool instructor with interesting lectures. Grading is mostly quiz-based with one midterm and a final.

Comment:

Stacey's an amazing lecturer for such a tricky subject. It is SUPER IMPORTANT to do ALL the HW and go to EVERY class. Only two tests so quizzes are worth a lot. She's an intense teacher, but a pretty cool person. This is no cruiser class; you must apply yourself as much as you can. Textbook's essential. Want an A? Be prepared to study really hard!

Comment:

Possibly the worst teacher Ive encounter in my college years. Very unorganized. Misspells everything she puts on the board. The quizzes are all over the place. She gives extremely easy examples during lecture but come test time she uses very difficult material that is too hard understand. Overall terrible teacher. Try to take with Burnett instead.

Comment:

Toughest class ever! Don't miss a single class or you will be LOST. Disorgnized lectures, dosen't correct or collect home work and only grades on quizzes and two other tests. Be ready to teach yourself the material. I've never worked so hard for a C in my life!

Stacy is a tough teacher teaching a tough subject. Easily the hardest class I've ever taken. However, she is an incredible lecturer and grades on a curve. The only way to pass is to apply yourself as much as you can. Read, see tutors, DO the homework, and make all lectures. Participate so she notices you. She might grade you up if she sees effort.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class and this teacher! Lots of fun! I looked forward to the class every day! However, this class is difficult!! You MUST have the book and be very dedicated to the work!!! She will teach you something new each day.. so do NOT miss class. Check the website EVERY SINGLE DAY! Want an easy A? Go somewhere else!

Stacey is as tough as they come, but mostly fair. She makes some of the most difficult tests I have seen at the JC level, but grades on a curve. Sometimes she is too much of a stickler for rules. Only recommended to dedicated students.

Terrible instructor. Thinks it's your fault if you don't understand something. More than half the class dropped/withdrew/failed. I am a 3.5+ gpa student and received C's in two of her classes. Worst teacher I've had in college hands down. Maybe worst teacher ever.

Not sure why she is so rude to the students, but judging from the comments it doesn't seem to get her very far. She makes a disclaimer on the first day of class basically stating nobody passes and she does not get along with students. Just listen to the ratings. Take this class somewhere else or with a different professor, she's awful.

I am a 4.0 student, butI struggled in this class. I was told by many people to not take her, but I thought I was "intelligent" so I should take her and challenge myself. I ended up with a C in her class. She is not specific and gives attitude when you ask for clarity. She will mock you if you ask questions. Do not take her!

Terrible teacher and super hard class and she's not very nice. She gives out homework but doesn't grade it so the only grades that matter are tests and quizzes which are extremely hard. This was the hardest class I have ever taken. I do not recommend!

Winter Session class, 11 days! Brutal, but worth it. Learned so much in a short time. Information was well presented, difficult but not impossible, and teacher was accessible.

Stacey is an amazing professor! Explains matter in different ways. Must attend class in order to pass and UNDERSTAND the material. Not an easy 'A' class; must work hard to earn grade. I love her! She is amazing. No tricky questions on exam or quizzes. She is passionate! She is great! Took it over winter session. High demand.

She is not nice. She is intense and abrasive. She is not clear. She does not give you any sort of "big picture" inspiration or understanding of the subject matter. It's as though she wants you to fail. The best analogy I can think of is to imagine taking human anatomy and learning each individual bone's name, but never seeing a skeleton.

She assigned a book about a guy ranting on America. She tested you on a very small detail of the assigned chapter. Really passive-aggressive with the students and told us that we would not pass her class.

Please, listen to the reviews. I didn't and I paid for it. She will tell you the first day of class that you will fail. And you probably will. She is not there to be your friend and she is not there to wish you goodwill. She is intimidating and abrasive. She won't like you and you won't like her. Dead serious - AVOID HER!
