Comment:

Professor Zappa is an amazing professor, she is very passionate about what she teaches and cares about her students. There are several papers throughout the semester, 3 of which have a 4-page minimum and final research with a 7-page minimum. If you can adapt your writing style to her structure, you'll love the class and her.

Comment:

Professor Zappa is a very good professor but its just too much work. All the essays are 4 page minimum, and they have to be good to even receive a 80. Class is basically non fiction stuff that means ALOT of reasearching either in class or at home. But she usually gives good feedbacks on your essays.

Mrs Zappa was one of the hardest graders Ive had. She takes everything very seriously and has a lot of attitude when you ask for help. She does no extra credit if thats what you want and she accepts no late work. Overall it was a good class but be prepared for a lot of work

Mrs zappa was amazing!! Her love for social justice and wanting to be apart of change inspired me. She is a very easy and straightforward you just gotta go to class. She is always willing to help you do better. She definitely helped me with my writing as well. I will definitely be coming back for English 1A with her

I love love love Mrs. Zappa! Shes a tough grader but definitely a big help in transforming you into better writer! Her passion for social justice is contagious. I would take her again. Be sure to read and do your work and you will do great.

Took her for Engl 4 and I regret it so much! Have to show up to class, no makeups, late work, or extra credit. She has 4 essays that are 4 pg. minimum which are graded harshly! Rude, mean, sarcastic, makes snarky remarks. She has an 8 pg. minimum final on 2 novels/acting play presentation, you have to act! I barely passed her class with an 80%

A tough grader and gives you a lot of work. If you are not familiar with studying under pressure or not so good with essays I wouldn't recommend this class. She is also really strict about participation so try not to skip her class or come late. Overall she is still a good teacher but might be a bit too tough for me.

Shes a great, amazing, down to earth, and funny professor. Great theme for an english teach, we had social justice. A lot of reading and you must read, thus you need the books. A lot of essays, but she helps you and teaches very well in improving. She has group projects which are fun. Group work which are fun. Its a fun active class!

Comment:

Zappa's fun, challenging, and hilarious- yet, in a serious manner. She's a genuine teacher that cares about her students & does her best to teach her material. Lots of reading and writing, but that's English. Assignments are thoroughly explained. She's always happy to help and brings snacks at the end of the semester. Zappa's a true gem at Chabot!!

Ms.Z is the best professor I have ever had! She is a really tough grader and she does make you work for your grade, however I think my essay writing skills have improved a lot because of her. She is strict but she is worth it!! especially if you are interested in political science or social justice

Hey guys please save yourself a semester and do not take this class with Ms. Zappa she will not help you when you need the assistance on your essays. I made a appointment with her about my rewrite essay and she was telling me to drop the class and when i tired asking for help during the appointment she rushed me out saying that she has to go.

Professor Zappa is phenomenal! She was my first English professor at Chabot and she really laid the foundation for my political science major. She's part of the Change it Now program, which emphasized on social injustices. You will learn so much valuable information from her readings and lectures. Amazing women! Work hard. You'll do great.

First, I like to say that she's a cool, funny teacher. However, if you're great in writing, and if you're good with politics I would recommend this class , but if you're not don't take her. She grades so hard on essays. Also, when you see her in conference, she doesn't help, but just gives feedback back that doesn't help much

feedbacks dont really help on the next paper. She checks only the intro and the thesis and then you are on your own to rely on your peers to help you which does not help you at all. Need to schedule appointment. There are four papers including midterm it does not sound alot but the amount of time that you have is little so added stress books boring

I love Ms. Zappa, she's easily the best English teach I've ever had. I've taken multiple classes with her and will be taking another. Yes, she gives a ton of reading, but as long as you keep up with it you have nothing to worry about. She's very helpful and wants so see you succeed, and she's absolutely hilarious. Definitely recommend!

Took Sociology online. Didn't learn much, but it was incredibly easy. Do the homework and take the tests, and you're set. Rarely had to do a full reading. If you are interested in actually learning, take a physical class rather than the online one.

Gives you a lot of work, go home with an essay that is due within a week or 2 class is mostly focused on essays which are70% so fail even one essay then you will not be passing this class get out of that class before you are ruined. A lot of stressing because of the essays. Go to her office hours did not help much only gives you hints.

Zappa is amazing. Her class requires a lot of reading, participation, and hard work, but it's worth it. During class and her office hours, she proved to be supportive, inspirational, and an incredible educator. She seems very stern at first, but her dry sense of humor is hilarious. I got so, so much out of her class. All hail Darth Zappa!

One of the best English teachers I've had. The first time you step into the class you might be frighten cause the way she looks but she's funny. DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER! She's very helpful not a lot test just a few quizzes. Expect to read a lot, but the books she picks are interesting. Does a lot of group work, group presentation for final!
