Comment:
Steven is A LOT at first. He defiantly uses the fear tactic to weed out the students who cannot handle a tough as nails "boss." But don't let his scare tactic get to you. Be fearless, talk back to him (respectively), and do not take what he says to heart. Make sure you attend class and ask him questions (even though he might not answer them).

Steven may seem intimidating g from the beggining but as the class progresses youll learn a lot more about the world of Graphic Design. I took him for 223B and 323A and is a great prof. Although he would get the syllabus wrong and make things confusing at times. In the end youll leave his class with great design skills and superior knowledge.

Steven is full of himself and loves to hear himself talk. He always contradicts what is stated on the syllabus/said in class, then gets upset when students are confused. Be prepared to get yelled at everyday how "this is business not school". I would not recommend his class to anyone, but sadly he is the best option at csuf for typeB..

I have Steve for 223B and 323A and I really enjoy both. At first, he might seem loud but from time to time he will be the professor that really care about you and will be there whenever you need help. Don't take seriously about his joking. He really respect every students and give good feedback. However, you have to work hard in his class

I have taken Steven for 3 classes. I would take him again if he taught the classes I have left. He is VERY motivating. I have a lot of respect for his teaching methods. He is constantly asking students for their opinions so he can tailor his projects. 10/10 recommend him over any of the other design prof at Fullerton. Take his classes.

Good teacher for the most part. There's a lot of work sometimes but it's manageable. There's a total of 5 projects. Generally caring even if he doesn't seem like it. My only complaint is the last project where he rushed us to finish the entire children's book design within 2 days. Other than that, he is always willing to help if you have questions

Hes hilarious. Blunt, to the point, doesnt beat around the bush which seems to offend some students but its for the best. The most important thing to remember for his class. PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS! A lovely man.

Steven's an incredible teacher and also pretty entertaining. He "yells" jokingly, so don't take it seriously. He teaches a ton of the fundamentals when it comes to page layout designs, color theory. If you want to grow as a designer, definitely take Steven's class.

Before taking Steven, I worked doing Graphics in Marketing for 3 years. His advice for real world experience with clients/directors is LEGIT. Do not take this class for granted. Great pace to projects, great feedback on crits but you have to do the work people! He's scary at first but he cares I promise. TAKE HIM.

After the first 2 projects and some homework discussion meetings he'll be able to tell if you are a great artist or a mediocre one. Which means if you got B for the first 2 projects then there is a chance it will be your final grade, don't try too hard on the last 3, won't bump you to an A. That's something I picked up from him. He's funny though.

Scary @ first but honestly very friendly & nice 1 on 1. Projects & crits were extremely helpful. Does not give A's often, makes you work hard. Expect to print a lot, & be very precise about design & craftsmanship. We made a children's book in this class that could easily be a portfolio piece. I saw a lot of growth in my work bc of him. Take him!

very macho, and very into his own opinion more yours, especially during crits. obvious who he likes and doesnt like, basically if you laugh at his jokes (that aren't all that funny) you'll get an A! explains his working experience qualifies him for the job but all i learned from him is how to satisfy a hard-to-work-with client

They way he runs his class is excellent. It encourages collaboration & experimentation. He pushes student's creativity and his projects are inspiring. It's not the easiest class but 3/5 of his assignments are portfolio pieces for me. He's hilarious and slightly intimidating but a big softie. I'm signed up to take him again next semester for 323A

One of the most underrated but best teachers in the graphic design department at csuf. He makes you work for the grade but has students best interest at heart and wants you to strive for greatness. Helps you get comfortable speaking in public about your work.
