A lot of bad reviews on this website about professor chakrabarti for no reason. He makes him self available to his students often, they just choose to no go and ask for help. I thought he did a good job I struggled the first 2 exams and still got a B+. Its a hard class, youll have to put in a lot of hours outside the classroom.

This class was very hard at the beginning, but you have to read the chapters before class and do the activities in the study guide to understand the material fully. He is an awesome teacher, but a little frazzled at times.

Terrible Professor. All he does is skim through his PowerPoint presentations. Never does any examples during class. I had to teach myself out of the book. If you have to take S201 don't take it with him.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR! He will harass you, he does not have respect for his students. I saw him do that for others and me in front of people. He is a typical Indian professor except that this one is POORLY progressing with American culture, with full of disrespect.

Professor Chakrabarti explains well and grades fairly. His letter grade scale makes it easy to get an A because you only need an 85. If you go to the lectures, and practice with the practice book, while reviewing the classes in the textbook, then an A is an easy task. Also the books are cheap, as he allows you to buy old versios

This professor teaches by powerpoint presentations and the occasional practice problem. You better hope you understand the first time, because he does not review at all. I recommend the study guide he suggests, because it was a good tool to prepare for the quizzes and tests. Easy Honors credit if you can pay attention and read graphs!

After taking this class i will never take another of his classes ever again. Lectures were long, boring, and confusing. Tests were tough and he would asked trick questions on purpose. Didn't help students to prepare for tests. Never put any grades into the computer, I had to track him down on campus to see my grade. Not good at responding to Email.

If you don't show up to class, go over lecture powerpoints, and do the study guide activities then I can understand how you would hate Prof. Chakrabarti. He requires you to do about an hour of outside work per week to do fine in his class. Very passionate and helpful. Sit close to him though because he can talk quietly at times. Loved him.

Even when you ask questions, he is not helpful in answering them. He just confuses me more by listening in class. I did better by teaching myself out of the book. He makes an easy topic difficult, instead of simplifying things. I suggest taking Econ online.

Econ is boring and I dreaded this course initially. I paid attention, printed the power points before class and took notes during lecture. He is a very helpful instructor if you put in the effort to pay attention. His lectures are what to study and he will stay after class to work examples. He does not try to trick you on tests that is false

I feel the class is more difficult than it really needs to be. The information is taught in a way that's dull and an ordeal to retain, the tests & quizzes are loaded with trick questions, and the homework is disproportionately long. Do yourself a favor and avoid this class if possible.

Hard class, wish he would give extra credit. Quizzes and tests are kinda hard, quizzes are like 10 questions, tests are 25 questions. I just dont like econ. also, the class is just boring, hard to pay attention.

Pretty straight forward teaching. Test and quizzes follow lectures and are fairly easy if you pay attention. Homework is not hard at all, can be done in less than an hour. Overall an okay class.

Tricky tricky tricky tricky!! BAD teaching-incomprehensible. unfair in grading. tests SUPER tricky, homeworks TOO hard and too long for anyone to spend time on or for only 2% grade for each. NOT recommended. may take time to explain after class but purposely avoids questions when ever possible.

The most boring professor I have had yet. Has a funny accent, like an indian sean connery. His tests were pretty easy. He makes you answer any 4 of 6 questions. Homework assignments are'nt too bad either.

I'm surprised to see so many neg. comments...was I the only one who liked Professor Chakrabarti? I started out struggling with the material, but I understood it at the end. It is a hard class, tho.
