Cares about your performance and things like finding the right project for you to work on, and the feedback for graded assignments has been some of the most in-depth I've ever received. She's also a confident and responsive lecturer, knows her stuff in the field, and has obviously been working to improve the course as much as possible.

One of the more animated profs you can ask for. Lecture is a lot of her talking, so if you're not the type to pay attention, don't _really_ need to be there. She goes above and beyond in providing office hours and TAs to be available to students. Hard marker, but reasonable. Published and accomplished in her field, so knows her stuff.

Overall a good professor. Speaks clearly and not monotonically. She seemed to care and was very helpful when answering questions. She did make some mistakes when lecturing, however they wasn't too serious.

The beginning of the course was extremely easy for me but the later portion was quite hard so make sure to listen carefully for that part. Tamara is extremely helpful when you ask for help and she's an extremely nice person. The lecture slides need some work though because unless you go to all the lectures and actually listen, the slides will look like gibberish to you. Overall a good prof!

failure rate reached upwards of 30% for a 1st year introductory course. materials were AMAZINGLY difficult (tests, exams, assignments). If it wasn't for the resource center and the lab, i would've failed the course

Not a bad prof. Exams and quizzes may be ridiculously difficult though. She doesn't know what level of difficulty is appropriate for everyone. Thankfully she scales things, but averages for different exams may be wildly different without scaling. The midterm was basically a clone of the previous one, but preparation for the final was inadequate.

Tons of info on lecture slides, almost too much. This leads to the odd mistakes, and things get confusing real quick. If you ask her about it though, she's quite helpful.

She does a poor job in teaching, not very successful in explaining the materials. lectures are really boring. and expected HELL LOT from you. ridiculous marking system which missing one hw assignment would also take off all the marks in HW and LABs.

She's actually decent in terms of teaching. But, her lecture notes are useless. The lecture notes contain too much information that do not even appear in the exams. She's really nice and friendly to talk to. Overall, not an easy course, but she's very friendly. I don't regret taking this course with her.

gives extremely difficult and long midterms and final, but scales afterwards. More than one third of the class failed this course. Assignments are difficult and requires countless hours of time commitment. If you have to take her course, make sure you understand java programming b4 taking the course

She's a hard prof, definitely a class where you would need to devote a lot of time to. She expects a lot from a first year class on Java. Although the general performance on her midterms/final were poor, she scales fairly, which can save your grade quite a bit The bottom line is that you HAVE to try and review everything.

This prof is doing a poor job of teaching 314. She is frequently absent, and she does little more than read off the lecture slides. It would really be nice if she put more effort into her teaching, but then again my impression is that she does not care about how well she does her job.

She's pretty good. Always responsive to questions and helpful. She needs to make her assignments/tests more related to her lecture notes though, or give more examples in class.

Found the course interesting. She is a decent lecturer, but the slides were a little too high-level for this subject. Thankfully have previous tests/assignments to look over prior to working on our own. Without them, would never know how to do the questions posted.

had to learn material on own. She was a good speaker but lectures were pretty useless. THANK GOD for TA's. Final did not reflect assignments -written or programming, was pure rote memorization. :P YUK. Lots of cheating went on in the class (incl final.)
