Interpersonal communications, it was an okay class you get those classmates that think its family counseling and then its like okay whats the point of showing up, but attendance is important because there isnt a lot of outside work. express yourself and pay attention and you will do okay.

She's a good teacher, but if she talks for more than five minutes you'll need a pillow because it can get very boring. The speeches are not that hard, although I thought the outlines should have been optional. Don't buy the book, because I rarely used mine.

going to class is easy. there is rarely homework and in class you just listen to her talk about a subject that she loves, and she loves hearing what the students have to say as well. she knows a lot about what she teaches and i a great teacher. if you pay attention in class and fill out the study guides you'll get an easy A.

She's awesome!!! I was so afraid to take speech class, but once I've this class...I have more confident than I ever had. She's so helpful, down-to-earth, and patience. Her teaching style is so great!!! The material is really helpful in real life. I have used her tactic and techniques, it really works! Highly recommended!

Dr. Helmick ROCKS! I had her for interpersonal coms, back in 1999. Now I am back in school and am taking her again for public speaking. She is a wonderful person and will help you if you ask. Great teacher and highly liked and recommended by almost all of her students.

This class is awesome! I took her class over the summer and i absolutely loved it! Dr. Helmick is soo nice and extremely helpful! She truly is there so you can become a better speaker. The class itself is not that hard. Just be prepared for your speeches and you will be just fine! I def recommend taking her class!

She was extemely helpful and very kind. Make sure you have your work with you. She did use some of her personal experinces to show what she would like from your speech. I believe that everything that she taught in the class and helped us with, has helped me as I speek infront of people.

Dr. Helmick is one of the most involved teachers that i've ever had! She is always interested in what you have to say, and does everything possible to be able to meet with you if you have a problem. If you take notes of the lectures and read the book, there is NO WAY you can fail.

EXCELLENT professor, one of the best ones I have had ehre at JCCC. really cares about her students and it's impossible to fail her class (you have to try really hard). if you are willing to work and listen to constructive criticism, it's an easy A. not a hard grader. take her if you have a chance.

Personally, she kind of scared me. I've done pretty well in the class, but she makes things seem very either "you do well" or "you do horrible". She's not mean or excessively hard, she's just not very involved and friendly.

I loved Dr. Helmicks teaching style. Very good at making the material relevant to real life, and how to apply it. Tests were not hard if you followed and really studied her study guides. Usually there were 4-5 essay questions on tests, along with multiple choice.

Comment:

Dr. Helmick has quite a bit of knowledge on this subject, and applies it well to real life situations. Her class is informative, enjoyable, not too easy but not overwhelmingly difficult, either. You work for your grade, but you write your own material, too. Tests are based on class notes and book, although cover to cover reading is not needed.
