Comment:

Great Professor, knowledgeable and experienced. You will have to read a lot to truly grasp all of the information, but it is interesting. Do the work and you'll pass no problem. He gives hints and sometimes the exact answers to specific test questions and short answers so listen carefully and write down everything.

Comment:

After having him a couple times, Monks may enjoy teaching this class most so that made the experience better to the other courses one can have with him. Actively listen and attend lecture and you will remember everything but read the textbook to reinforce the idea. The acc class is fun, just as you read up and study notes, and exams will be easy.

One of the only professors I've legitimately hated. He is so closed minded, and tries to force his ideals onto the class. He basically talks out loud, and you have to follow with the book if you want any real definitions. He's a tough grader on essays.

Professor Monks no doubt is the best accounting professor Westconn have. He knows his stuff crystal clear. You have to READ the book to get A. If you don't read and just attend lectures you still can pass with C. He is not a typical professor he make jokes and make class fun. Onething he hates cheating so no shortcut.

Great Professor. Knows his stuff. Serious but funny. No homework. Doesn't care if you miss class but his lectures are essential so try not to. His lectures are the notes. No powerpoints. Its not a hard class. 1 paper due at the end of semester. Wants everyone to do well. If you ask for help he's more than willing. Tests aren't too hard just study.

Took ACC 340, 341, & 407. He is an amazing professor & one of the best who teaches at WCSU. (ACC Department & law) You have to do the work & wants it to be a prof environment. (good thing bc it gets you ready) There are 3 exams & if you ever need help, he wants you to reach out to him. (this is not high school) He makes class interesting, too!

Very knowledgeable professor. Lectures are long and bounces around a bit. Grade consists of 3 exams, a wall street journal project and class participation, so make sure you show up. If you can take great notes on the lectures you'll do fine on the exams. He's a bit anal though, doesn't want people chewing gum or eating candy in class

Amazing professor. He is crystal clear with all his lectures. The subject matter isn't a piece of cake; therefore, make sure to read the book to understand the fundamentals of it. He never assigned any homework. Just the 3 Exams.

Great professor!! Lectures are really interesting. 3 tests which aren't bad. If you take good notes on his lecture and read the chapters the tests aren't bad at all. Only one project that's due at the end of the semester which is easy. Overall great class, definitely take him!!!

Professor Monks turned the arduous topic of Corporate Taxation into an interesting and enjoyable class. If this class was not offered, I would feel that my education was going to waste. Truly the only class where what you learn can be applied to real life.

Prof. Monks is one of the greatest teachers at WCSU. He is extremely clear what you were going to be tested on. Just take good notes and attend class and you will pass. I never once looked at the textbook. Highly recommend you take him, you will not regret it.

Monks is the man to take for all Accounting and Law Classes. Attendance is a must along with the WSJ project. Not a cake class but do your HW and the practice exams u can't fail. Very Understanding and is willing to meet students who try half way!

everyone loves him, he ok. never miss a class! dont not do the WSJ project, and make sure you do his practice exams they really help ;) as for him as a person hes great just needs to manage the class time better rather than going off an story tangents because there is a lot of material to go over in a short semester

Monks is easily the best ACC teacher here. His class is not a cake walk, but he will teach his class so that he ensures everyone's understanding. Uses great step-by-step approach to teaching problem solving and methods. Good sense of humor, and you will want to try in his class. Wish the other ACC mutants could take a page outta his book.
