I had him for lab and he was pretty good for it. Easy grader when it comes to lab reports and notebook checks but don't expect to learn anything or even understand the lab when he explains it at the beginning of class.

Nice old man, but terrible teacher. Tests are not too bad, but his lectures are incomprehensible. I ended up having to teach myself out of the book because notes in class were useless for actually understanding the material.

DON'T TAKE! If you want to learn don't take this class. his tests are extreamly hard even if you go everyday and read the book. Always holds class over and it's only offered at 8am MWF.

I would not recommend this class for anybody. Although Dr. Rokoske is such a sweetheart, he is a terrible teacher. Extremely confusing. Will waste class on a 30 min problem then get it wrong. Never does things when he says he will and messes it up when he does. A very easy grader on tests though.

Comment:

Not the most helpful teacher in the world but Dr. Rokoske DOES try to explain things the best way he knows how. Despite the fact he leans on his "graded curve" way too much to determine student's grades, I would say that he is pretty fair when it comes to quizzes and homework. Read the book, do practice problems and you should be fine.

Dr. Rokoske is a very decent and kind individual but as a teacher he lacks a lot! He uses a normal bell curve so if you have a B but the class average is a B you will end up with a C. I do not recommend. He is definitely old school.

Rokoske is the sweetest man ever. He is a little hard to understand during class because he does tend to go off on tangents, but if you just go visit him during office hours, he will help you out and he can be a huge help because he is very patient and understand. I highly recommend him. :)

This class was very difficult. I only pulled off a B because he curved the tests, thank god. I didnt understand most of what was covered in class. I went to all the review/help secessions and they did not help. He tries to be funny but that didn't really work. Had to come in early on test days.

Good guy. Dont expect to understand much of what he teaches in class. You can basically just read the power points in the warmth of your dorm room. I walked away confused more often than not. He will curve the grades though, as no one does well on the tests.

I had to teach myself all the material because he spends about the whole class period on one problem, and people still walk away confused. Skips ahead too, like is already on Chapter 9 when we have not yet even turned in the homework for chapter 7

He came into our class after Dr. Peters left. He did well given that he picked up the class half way in. He goes off on tangets a lot, and sometimes you can't understand whats going on. Alright teacher though.

Lets you take tons of notes to tests, however, very difficult to get clear answer out of and forget emailing, he doesn't respond most of the time. Curves everything expect final grades come out lower than expected. Nice enough, knows too much with no way to convey it.

Super intelligent and goes off on tangets, so hard to follow sometimes. Helps a lot, but the class is still difficult. Major curve. Not too much of a workload, just be sure to keep up. Great guy.
