Dr. Peter is described by one student on this page as a "politician". This was my experience with him at Stetson. While many appreciate (myself included) his attempt to be upbeat nearly 100% of the time, over time it becomes clear this is often forced/ingenuine. As for his directing skills, he is average.

Tim Peter is the most amazing man I have ever had the privilege to know, have as both a conductor and conducting mentor. The sense of community he creates in his choir room makes class an absolute joy, and his musical expertise is obvious. Luther will miss him dearly; Stetson better know how damn lucky they are to have him; it's the end of an era.

A great professor and a better man, he will be missed by the Luther College community. While Weston was the heart of the music program, TP is the soul. His passion and caring for his students his evident, as is his devotion to his job. Stetson is lucky to be receiving such a wonderful man.

He is an amazing conductor! Also really has a knack for making people who audition for him relax. He can be somewhat demanding in class at times, but produces amazing results. In addition, he is one of the rare directors that tends to always pick great songs.

I (am now a music teacher) and I learned a lot from Dr. Peter about motivating my students by being enthusiastic and excited about what I am teaching. It is infectious! And doing this is not something that they put in textbooks!

Dr.Peter is a fine director. For a man of his age, he is experienced and knows how to act in front of others. Absolutely a politician. If you're a freshman, don't rate him until later--you will start to see his many sides. And for those of you complain about him not getting the position were clearly not involved in the process. It was a landslide

A great choral director; one of the best. Luther is lucky to have him. He knows what he wants from his choir and is able to help them perform at a level of excellence. He's where the future of the choral is and should be entrusted with that future.
