Nice enough guy. Group projects. I know I had a hard time working with some of the people in my group. Wants to hear from his students. Wasn't the worst class ever, considering communication is pretty hard to sit through. He did good!

Comment:

If you have him for the honors course, be prepared to put in extra work. A requirement for our class was to volunteer for 12 hours in order to shape our speeches. There aren't any tests, but reading and completing the chapters for the online book is a must. He likes to assign lots of things at once with short notice, so be ready for that.

Comment:

While I enjoy Pierce overall as a person, I didn't enjoy his class very much. He was not very clear on how speeches should be. Pierce was a funny and nice person, but I just felt as if I could have better guidance for my first speech class. You need both the book and the access code. The online quizzes are easy.

I loved honors coms with Pierce. After each speech he will sit with you for a minute and give you direct, supportive feedback to help you improve. He is very friendly and has your best interests at heart. In the honors section, VOLUNTEER WORK IS REQUIRED. Be prepared.

He loves what he does and he makes that clear to the students. He gives you a lot of work. There are online quizzes every week, homework and readings but those are all done online. There is a big project that is due the last day of class.

He was extremely helpful and clear about what he wanted for speech assignments. I really enjoyed his class, he made everyone feel very comfortable and welcome. If you are someone who has extreme anxiety about public speaking definitely take his class he will really help you though it!

He is such a great teacher. He's very easy to approach and he will help you out! The class is pretty easy. Public speaking always makes me nervous but he's a fair grader and I passed with an A. The speeches weren't hard but just pay attention and listen to what he says. He's pretty funny and makes you feel comfortable!

Best Teacher Ever. Every thing he teaches you will use in real life.From The Etiquette Dinner,to the Resume building assignments, Different search engine for jobs he shows in class.His quizzes are at home and u can re-correct all your work at the end of the semster to get all you points back.His jokes kinda corny. But he is super coo n fun!

T-Pierce is the best! He is the most understanding, helpful teacher! If you don't feel like coming to class, just shoot him a text and he'll say "I'm sorry, I hope you feel better soon." He is a very lenient guy and wants all of his students to do well. Bring your course pack to class for speech days and don't forget the online hw and tests!!

Tim is such a great guy! Coms 100 is a tough class because of the department regulations, so it isn't his fault that he needs to cover the boring and trivial parts of speech. he is really lenient though, and if you need to take a day off he has no problem giving you excused absences! just be respectful and you'll get along! I would say an easy B

Tim is a very nice man. Him and I definitely butted heads a lot in the beginning because some of the things he wants out of the class is unclear, but at the end he is very helpful with the final project and the class itself teaches you a lot of what you need to know for the "real world" He also helped me with things after the class ended. :)

If you have convictions or opinions on any controversial issue, I'd make sure he agrees with you before you do anything at all. I gave 2 speeches on Pro-Capitalism and got a C and a D. I aced 2 speech classes in high school prior to COMS100. If you take this class, do NOT sign up for his class unless you are a liberal or have no political opinions.
