I wish we had more Professors like Professor Stroup. He puts in a lot of effort to educate us and help us learn as much as possible. He does give a good amount of work, but we are in college! Every time I had a question he would take the time out to answer it in a very clear manner. I recommend that you take professor Stroup if you want to learn!

If you can not dedicate time to read and do worksheets, and show up on time at that then drop this course ! Overall he cares tremendously about his students and who they become in the future . Put forth the effort to do the work sheets , and reading and making it to class just like he does and there will be an option excellent outcome.

Professor Stroup is great at what he does. He is intelligent, humorous, and knows how to make the topics relatable to the class. He is not a professor to take if you're not willing to put any effort into the course. Homework is given for every class, and it only benefits you to do it because they relate directly to the exams.

If you are lazy and not prepared then this is not the class for you. Its such a shame that these people have something negative to say about professor Stroup. He is respectful, helpful and intelligent. If you don't put any effort obviously you won't get a good grade. You do have homework in the class, but they are based on the readings, not hard.

Contrary to the negative statements, you would be very lucky to take his class. You can really learn a lot about yourself in this class. Stand for something with good reason based on facts. Don't inherit your positions. Define yourself. He genuinely cares about your future and will help you only if you help yourself. Professors like him are scant.

He gives ppl the grade they deserve, simple. And honestly I believe he's quite generous w/ the grading. I was a bit scared from the comments on here yet I received an A. Just participate and do all the worksheets, be kind to one another, and stop whining bahaha.

Gifted, intellectual, hard working, and knows how to teach YOU to be a critical thinker. If there were more professors like him, John Jay would be considered a highly rated school and attract high quality students. He treats you like you are SUPPOSED to be in college and not 13th grade. If you want to be a real thinker, take his class.

We weren't able to go over all the worksheets which sucked at 1st but he takes into consideration your hard work and makes you think. everyone complaining obviously still think they're in H.S. Very good guy and caring as well. overall great experience.

Let's be Frank, either you like the class or you don't. Professor Stroup really cares about what people post on here, so here it is professor., b/c I know he will be reading this. Lets be frank. If you want to actually learn something and get your money's worth, this is the class. Professor Stroup is an extremely professional professor. He's quite easy going but he grades so harshly on the hw's he gives. This is especially frustrating because you are teaching yourself the material way before he goes over it. So if he collects it and you don't get it, oh well. Diagrams are confusing but he does put a lot of effort into his classes. He's smart, but confusing and boring.

Extremely biased and doesn't care about your opinions. If you don't write his exact words on hw/test or agree with him, expect an avg/low grade. Talks through the whole period -you would think its a lecture hall. So boring sometimes. Needs to refresh lesson plans- its old and dry. He's set in his ways and sees no 2ways about it. Stressful Class!!!

This professor is the worst, gives very little descriptions about topics. Everything is based on his lectures. no opinions matter hes biased. I would never taken his class if i knew the workload was going to be difficult. but as for his work load its a lot and he expects too much from students who work full time and attend school.
