Tom ECUAD will miss you Professional Practice is boring stuff. Its just a fact. But if you''re really interested in your own professional practice this class could really make a difference. You just have to work hard and pick up a dictionary every now and then. He uses language that is used in the legal world and that''s what this class is about.

Tom is amazing, after the course he taught me, I knew a lot of things that I got a to understand. He always encouraged us to reflect on everything, & to take nothing for granted. His ideas and classes are deep, and builds up on the previous classes, and maybe that's why some students finds his ideas Hard. He is so helpful and always willing to help.

Very intelligent man, maybe too talkative and dry, as it was hard to stay interested in the materials. More time spent teaching fundamentals would have been super, and also relating content to students would have been helpful. He needs to find a way to make contracts and briefs/reports more relevant and stimulating to students. Too boring!

Comment:
Probably he would be a decent dhis or desn instructor, but his prof. practice class is an exercise in frustration. He is very intelligent but lacking any orderly teaching skills. It takes him an hour to get to a few main points, his assignments are clear as mud and he never answers any question directly. You spend all class chasing the point.

He might have been a good DHIS instructor, but as a straight "A" student, I can honestly say that his professional practice class was the worst class I have ever attended. He read like Apples Terms & Conditions. He explained things from end to beginning and didn't relate the information to students at all. He also gives no deliverable parameters.

Comment:
He hands out assignments which he does not give students the background knowledge and understanding to complete. He is a very smart man but a TERRIBLE teacher. He talks about unimportant things while ignoring the most important, believing them "obvious". Yet this is many students' first ever business class, and therefore the info is NOT obvious.

I'm sorry, but if you call tom's random muttering and bumblings intellegent thought? there has to be something wrong. Obviously one can't ignore the fact we go to eci and everything has to mean something or be something its not, but he is lost in his own mind. Yes, he does say a few intellegent things, but to call him an effective teacher is wrong.

Tom is by far the best teacher I've ever had. If students have difficulties understanding him, that's because design is terribly difficult to teach. But when you do finally make the connection, you end up learning a whole way of thinking about everything.

he gets lost in his own thoughts all the time.nothing is clear with him as he trails off the topic every single time.. i think he just needs some time to organize his thought... nice preson but not so sure if he's a good teacher...

When you don't understand a teacher --provided that you have at least average intelligence-- it is because he/she is simply not good at his job. But there are insecure IDIOTS who tend to think, that because they don't understand Becker's BS he is smart, "abstract" In my opinion he is mediocre and you are just that, IDIOTS

Tom's a good guy he tells you what he thinks, even if it's abstract, he gets to the point fast and always available if you need help clarifying your ideas.
