He wasn't a bad guy. I liked him as a person but his class isn't the best if you haven't taken calculus. His class is not on pilot. He grades the exams hard but calculates your final grades by the letter score only so it boosts your grade slightly. He teaches by copying old notes from the board. It's a pretty typical lecture from the 90s.

Lectures are dry, but helpful for some individuals that may have never taken calc 1 before. Grading on tests was bad. Very little partial credit, even for large derivative problems. Hw is best material to study. Curves ok on tests, sometimes up to 15%. Typical WSU math professor really, wouldn't recommend.

He's a bit dry, but he's a good instructor. He gives in-class proofs that will be useful on exams and certain homework problems, but he doesn't give tons of example problems. Lectures can be long and he gives a significant amount of homework, but he's good about pushing back due dates if it's too much. Exams are okay, the final was incredibly easy.

So he's British and teaches straight from the book but, I didn't find him to be a bad prof. About half of my class ended up dropping the class and average attendance was around 7 people, but he's a nice guy and grades with a large curve. Plus, if he learns who you are, he'll grade you easier. I recommend. Especially if you've taken calc in hs.

OK, he's British, so at times hard to understand. He speaks softly and kind of monotonned so he is hard to focus on. He teaches straight out of the book which is bad and his exams are really hard. He does curve which is probably the only reason anyone passes. Overall I do not suggest him for Calc, but he isn't a bad guy or anything.

Overall Mr. Evans was a terrible professor. He has awful handwriting, reads straight from the book during lecture, and never holds any attention. I would advise anyone taking calc to turn around and run away. You won't learn anything if you're new to calc. His grading style makes no sense and tests are worth everything. Don't choose him!

He's a very monotonous speaker, and his British accent gives me a headache, but he actually has quite the sense of humor, but only if you pay attention as it's kinda subtle. He says zed instead of z, which kind of threw me off, but I guess it's for the better due to diversity. I tested pretty bad, but he's a pretty good professor all around.

Boring instructor, but he does the best that he can with the material. Do all the homework and pay attention in class and you should be fine. Most of the grade comes from tests, but the tests are based off the homework and they are far easier. Expect to do poorly on homework assignments, but do well on tests because of the homework.

If you go to class, do the homework, and go to the labs, he warms up to you. If you skip, he sees it as you not caring and therefore won't give you the time of day. He doesn't answer questions - he makes you figure it out without much guidance. So if you're smart and are good at both teaching yourself and going to class, you'll be fine.

Good at math, bad at teaching. He speaks in a monotone and assumes that students already know what he is talking about. Don't take him if you don't test well, because tests are 90% of your grade - tons of homework for the last 10%. Doesn't respond promptly to emails. I dropped, plan to take again with someone else teaching.

Professor Evans has tunnel vision; after explaining to him a problem he had marked wrong on my exam (which was right; I even checked with other professors), he still refused to listen to logic. This was after he told us we could use whatever method we wanted so long as we got the right answer and it made sense.

Very, very boring lecture. He's like a british Mr. Roger, puts you sleep in an instant. He's all about proofs, the first 2 exams were mainly over limits proving derivatives instead of just using them. Very frustrating, if you've had Calc before (i.e. highschool, egr 101) prepare to take a huge step backwards and learn old stuff in a confusing way

Lots of HW for only 10% of final grade. First exam was easy, second exam was too hard, and final was ridiculously easy. Curve of almost 20% on 2nd exam. Very interested in proofs and lemmas. A very boring, monotonous voice. Other than that, class was fine. Given some of the other math profs, I'd say take Evans over them.

I don't know why this guy is so hung up on proofs either. Stop reinventing the wheel and use what's already been done. I also don't understand why he refers to "z" as "zed". We don't say "zed" here, we say "z". If you take this class, plan on bringing a comfortable pillow. Trust me, you'll need it.

His lectures basically consisted of reading the textbook. The only chances for grades in the class were exams. His exams cover what you DON'T study. This guy is all about pure math and proofs. Forget that garbage, pure math doesn't solve real world engineering problems! If you want to sit through lame and boring lectures, then take this class!

I hate math, but it wasn't that hard. He is very good at math, just not very good at teaching. If you don't understand something, ask one of your classmates.
