If you need to fill your art credit, take this class. Everything is open book, including the midterm and final. Professor Hanada-Rogers has a great and easy to use online setup and is a quick grader. All work is due by Friday at 11, two discussion forums, and one mini paper about the dances you watched. The class takes about 3-4 hours a week.

She really didn't teach. In the Jazz I class, there were quite a few beginners like myself that were lost in the back. She used class time to rehearse for the dance show, of which about 60% of the students were in, and the rest of us were just kinda there. Taught moves outside of class, and we just had to get them from the people who were there.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR. Easy A but I spent more time on her ridiculous weekly assignments than I did on my other 4 BUSINESS class COMBINED. Her midterm and final are AWFUL. Example "which dance incorporated blah blah movements" And there's 15 choices, multiple choice. And you have to pick out all of the right ones for credit.

Insane amount of work this Professor makes you do for a 3 unit dance class that's taken at a community college level. If you think this class is going to be your "fun" class for the semester, you're wrong. The work is easy, it's just very, very, very time consuming. I spend more time on this class than I do my GE Math, Science, and English classes.

30 discussion posts (2 weekly), a detailed reply to 2 classmates for each post, hours of lecture weekly, 1-2 paragraph analysis for each dance (8-10 dances weekly). No study guide for tests. Week of midterm? Assignments that week too. 3 page live dance critique. 5-6 page paper on 2 dances. Ive taken honors & English classes with less workload!!!!

lots of writing in this class. a lot of work every week. spent hours on the midterm, and even though it was open book, I didn't even get an a or b. on top of the lengthy weekly assignments, she makes you go to a live dance and write a 3 page paper on it. on top of that you have to write a SIX PAGE PAPER on two dances. 6 pages on a dance? SERIOUSLY?

I like that she gave us lecture videos with supplemental videos of the dance being discussed. However, way too much work with papers, viewing assignments and quizzes for a 3 unit online class. Spent hours every week on her assignments and still feel like I didn't learn a whole lot. She also does not give feedback on papers.

I love this class. Lectures helped with the homework and the discussion posts. The book was not required at all. At times, it seemed like a lot of homework, but your grade is basically getting the HW done and a few tests. Very straightforward class to pass and REALLY interesting material. Offers extra credit and you will enjoy and pass the course!

I took my first online class with dance 105. Having not even met this professor, she was responsive, helpful, nice, and very clear about assignments. The platform she uses, Moodle, is easy to use once you figure it out.

I took her dance 101 and 105 class online, class was straight forward and an EASY A. The set up was easy to understand and she grades easily but the formats really repetitive. There are assignments and discussion posts every week that are REALLY easy to do but it's easy to not catch up so do them. I would take her again overall.

ASSIGNMENTS: 1 quiz, 1 midterm, 1 research paper, 1 final, 1 live dance event paper. EACH WEEK: lectures and dance videos for you to watch and then email the teacher with brief detail for EACH video. VERY TIME CONSUMING! Doesn't respond to emails. Doesn't clarify essays. No study guide for tests. Didn't use book once! Don't recommend this teacher!

I really enjoyed this class. The professor is very friendly and gives great feedback. She's very quick to answer emails if you need help or anything. There are many assignments but they aren't too hard!

This class is a lot of work but the work is easy! Professor Hanada-Rogers is very flexible and understands the life of a student. She excepts late work. The class its self is interesting. I learned a lot about the history of dance. Also, the way the class is organized makes it easy to follow. I recommend this class.

Trisha is an amazing teacher. If you really needed help in any of her classes she would go over things with you until you understood. She takes so much out of her time for everyone. She's a great teacher and such a fabulous intelligent woman. The homework was a lot but it's college so it's expected. I say all her classes were fun and challenging.

There are more than one discussion post each week and the teachers expectations from this class are outrageous the workload is way more than that of a 3 credit class. I think this teacher needs to refine her workload. I am constantly worrying about all my discussion board 30 in 15 weeks is crazy

she was really great. i had her for most of my classes and loved the new moves i learned. i was a prior dancer and she helped me take it to the next level. even with some outside injuries she thought of ways i can join in and not further injur myself and not feel left out. she is great for beginners and i love her energy vibe. she is knowledgeable
