Likes to joke around with students so if you're sensitive don't take her. Gives a lot of readings but very short and easy. Her lectures are the exact same as the tests so take notes. I would definitely take her again. Easy A

Comment:

Old-fashioned class setting and outdated but Mrs Kay is a sweet old lady and the material and lectures are interesting and will keep you up. And not to mention, shes an very fair grader! Quizzes is in word or google docs and midterm is an easy paper and finals is an easy group project. No tests! So if u want an easy A, take her! Shes great!

1 midterm that was a paper. a final that is a group project. NO POP QUIZZES. her lectures are old school where she sits down and talks the whole time. No technology used. CANVAS TOO. shes really interesting if you take cultural anthropology but to others it may be boring. she isnt bad at all. so if your lazy and wanna pass easily take her.

Comment:

Professor Kay was the worst professor I ever had. She does not know how to work a computer so Canvas grades are out of the question. She is incredibly sassy and many times just straight up RUDE to her students. Class wise her "lectures" include stories of her personal experiences in different areas, and post cards with facts on them that she reads off of. She doesn't write ok the board so if you zone out for even a second you're screwed. The only good part about this class was she is an incredibly easy grader and will many times let you retake a pop quiz if you fail. Beware of the final project! It is a group project and if you're the "scribe" you get extra points from your group mates. Overall I it was an easy class to get a good grade, but the experience was absolutely terrible.

I had Professor Kay for Cultures of Latin America and she was the worst professor I have ever had. She is old, boring, and unorganized. She forgets half of the things we accomplish and never has a set lesson plan. Attendance is mandatory and half the time we sit there and do nothing. She is difficult to communicate with and unwilling to help.

A sweet old lady but should honestly retire. No use of canvas. Syllabus is unclear. One midterm which is a paper. Pop quizzes. Final is a group project. Takes 20 minutes taking attendance using her "secret way to remember names." Lectures are long, she sits the whole time. 3 days left of class and I am still unsure what my grade is.

She is adorable! Yes, she does begin her class twenty minutes later, but that's because she likes to talk to her students. I believe she's an easy grader. The midterm was a 6 pg paper, and the final is a group project. HW is read the chapter & write 3 comments and questions about it, so you won't need the book, you can just borrow from someone.

She is so frustrating, unorganized, and loopy! Yes, she is nice, but she gives reading assignments last minute, makes you do a write-up on them, and then forgets to mention them again! She is easily distracted so you don't learn anything. One big easy paper, one big group presentation, and many little annoying assignments that are a waste of time.

She is the cutest thing ever. She was a great teacher. She knows her stuff. Some things may be innacurate but as long as you write your papers by what she lectures about you'll be fine but she doesnt penalize if you use other sources. I enjoyed this GenEd. I absolutely loved her. It made me more interested in my roots.

She's not bad overall. The class is encompassed of a few in class writing assignments (she provides the questions before hand), an interview (which most people make up), and a group presentation. There is no need to buy or read the textbooks she asks for (3). Take this for an easy A, providing you do the little bit of work and show up.
