Tests are straightforward and open book. Attend class and do your homework and you'll do fine. He might call you out if you don't understand something - even more reason to come to class prepared! He is really nice to talk with after class and wants you to learn.

Tests aren't bad. Get the old ones and that helps even more. All tests are open book. His teaching makes sense and although he has an accent, it's not unbearable. Highly recommended. Great guy.

Great teacher! Tests are open book and grading curve is amazing. If you make an A in the final you automatically make an A in the class regardless of what your average is. Do the homework. Tests look confusing but are really not. Very easy.

I don't know why everyone didn't like him. He was fair in his grading and as long as you did a little studying you would do fine on his farely easy tests. Not hard to understand and very helpful, you just have to get to know him a little bit.

The first time I showed up during his office hours asking for help, he insulted me for not being able to do something. He seems to have an honest disdain for his students. That said, his tests were open book (though not open note), and the curve was very generous (51 was a C). It was an easy class to pass, if you could stand the teacher.

This guy sucks so much! Comes from ORNL and gives idea that he's super genius. Can't teach ****. Exams are pretty fair if you do the homework. No curve. Not helpful at all. Russian accent makes him suck even more- not understandable. AVOID him!
