no curve but fair grading scale. you can already get 20% by completing homework which make sense to not curve the class. you should pass if you put in some effort. definitely go to his review sessions so you can at least get to the average.

PROF Sun is a great professor. He is enthusiastic in teaching. He can explain complicated concepts in short and simple sentences. He does not use the textbook but his lecture is much clearer than the textbook. HOWEVER, DO NOT choose him if you don't attend lectures often. His notes and slides on Ted are super unclear and unorganized.

Despite his accent, he was a decent professor. READ HIS LECTURE SLIDES/NOTES. 1 midterm, 1 final. I didn't need the textbook, but make sure you go over previous years' exams and the problems. Make sure you do the problem sets as its easy points (20% of grade). He gives extra credit in the form of attending lecture (can boost your grade almost 5%).

Skipping lecture doesn't mean you won't pass, but attendance helps boost your grade a lot. But I don't recommend this professor. I had a lot of trouble following what he said in lectures. For one, he writes the bare minimum and then will just say important concepts so it's easy to miss. if you have to take him, the practice problems are essential.

If I could have taken another professor for Econ 120c, I would have. However, if you choose to take this professor, do realize that this professor DOES NOT like to go according to the textbook (con in my point of view), and is extremely unclear in his lectures. Luckily PSET lab hours are available for explanation.

No curve for his class, but don't run away because of it! He wanted us to help each other and work hard together. He gave extra credits for attendance! No professor I have met so far will write a whole package of review notes for you to help you study for your exams, he did! His tests were fair, and allow you to use one page of note on exam.

Greatest professor in econometrics, you can see his passion about the subject from his lectures and very detailed notes posted online. His office hour is always packed and he even comes to computer lab to help for STATA homework. As long as you can get over his accent, this class will be an amazing experience. Also there are a few attendance credit

This professor was not only difficult to his lectures, but also his speech. The accent from this professor caused a lot of confusion for someone who's trying to learn. Not only that, but this professor has no organization for his notes. Because of that, I didn't know how to study for his exams. Be prepared to ask a lot of clarifying questions.

He is passionate, however he does have an accent. Some people are able to get over his accent. I was not able to get over it and did not understant a lot and dropped with a w. I can sift through European and Indian accents but this was a little too much for me. He is passionate and I'd assume he is an excellent professor if you can understand him.

I'm very torn here: He's a good teacher and he goes the extra mile for students. He gives some extra credit for attendance and surveys, his grade scale is generous, and he provides a lot of material to study. BUT, I could not stay focused because of his accent, and I'm usually pretty tolerant. He's comprehensible, but it's tough to stay focused.

When I first walked into the class and heard his accent my first thought was "My God, I am going to hate this class and fail" however, what he loses with his accent he completely makes up for with his passion for the subject and his ability to explain the topics really well. If you can get past strong accents, I highly reccomend him.

Absolutely fantastic. He has a pretty serious accent and can be hard to understand when he starts talking fast, but he talks fast because he's excited about the subject, and it's always fun to learn something from someone who actually cares about it. Highly recommended.
