Comment:

Yoshio is one of the best teachers i've ever had. His knowledge of ceramics and sculpture is at the top of the list and he has been around long enough to warrant being an expert in his field(s). Taking his class is much more than getting a grade and if you are serious about learning then he is your guy. If not, then don't waste your time or his.

Comment:

He is a great artist, and he knows his stuff. However, he is picky and a critical grader. He jokes around in a sarcastic way, and loves making fun of people who are late. The class will be hard work for a beginner artist, and he expects you to do well on the first try. I already have lots of experience in sculpting, so the class wasn't a challenge.

Yoshio is super fussy. & only wants to see your art done his way. He picks art for the CACA show yearly & if your stuff doesn't look like his, forget about getting in. As a known artist, he has a certain ego in class that is sometimes hard to get past. Very secretive about glazing techniques & reluctant to share his vast knowledge wthe rabble.

Yoshio is the most amazing teacher, he ill go out of is way to make sure you know understand what to do and how to do it. Even if you have no experience with clay if you show up each day and try your best you can pass this class with a B. To get an A you need to have gone the extra mile to refine your pottery and make it a bit more artistic.

I LOVED this class because of the relaxed atmosphere and i genuinely love working with clay, however yoshio is not an easy/fair grader, he is extremely biased. he doest give u grades for any of ur work just watches ur final presentation and comes up with a letter. dont bother looking at his grading rubric, he doesnt follow it.kiss ass fr a gd grade

Hi my name is Jake, and this class was by far one of the best classes i have ever been in. mr.taylor is one of the best teachers at this school, fun to be around, and very helpful! he understood me! Helped me alot through things ididnt think i could make it through! I will take this class again once im back from the militarY!!

Prof. Yoshio Taylor is a great teacher and great guy. I suggest taking his class for everybody studying Art, because of his fabulous helpfulness to be a creative artist. I enjoyed his course a lot and most students take his class AT LEAST for two times because loving it.

Yoshio can be a good professor. But he can also be irritating. Like when we thought we would have an extra day to work on a project, and he made us sit and listen to him talk the whole class period. His class is a lot of work and he sorta expects that art is the center of every students world. I'm not sure I would take him again...

I love Yoshio. He has taught me so much in the Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 semester. He's very dedicated to his passion and loves to show his art work. He knows what he's doing, so listen! Taking notes is so very helpful and so are all the demos. Make sure you don't make anything "useful" or cute. He's not very fond of those things. But if you can be proud an appreciate your own art work , that was also made correctly, he will love yours, too.
