He tells you that the practice exam isn't anything like the actual test, but it is almost exactly the same. Nothing is terribly hard, but you need to do the homeworks (he grades some). Otherwise, don't bother with class, IMO. But I have a strong math background. He actually gave out C's and D's in a grad course though?! Only 20% got A's.

Good if you study, bad if you don't. Don't walk in expecting an easy A--it's not. Exams aren't rocket science but they do require up front effort. Dr. McWhorter is extremely helpful--particularly to those that aren't shy of asking for help. Visiting during office hours/appointments with questions is highly encouraged.

Great Prof and Great guy. This class will beat you up if you do not study and do the HW. I cannot stress enough how important it is to study the old tests, show up to class, and do the HW. The tests are very much like the old tests. Pay attention to detail. If he says know something verbatim, that is what he means. No BS!

I can see he hasn't changed since I had him in 1978. Although he is a great lecturer, it is very hard to make a good grade from him. Take somebody else.

Probably the only prof in the MBA program at UH who takes time to teach the material. The class is hard, but if you keep up with the HW and practice tests, you will do fine. Attend class-he does a great job explaining e material. Study daily!

Do not get behind! He is a great teacher. He takes the time to explain the formulas and what they mean. I never took a STATS class before him and I feel like I understand what meaning behind what we are doing. He keeps you there the entire class period and goes very fast. Tests are tricky and he will take points off for small detailed mistakes.

This is a tough class. It is very organized, although I don't think he's varied the course much in the last 20 years. The exams, I'm sure, are the exception. He moves VERY fast at the beginning of the course. You must do all the homeworks stay on top of them. First exam is very hard. 2nd and final exam not as bad. Study more than you would think.

Must study in this class. Attend every class - don't miss or you will be behind. class is basic in beginning but gets more complex at end. Practice, practice and practice - computations. He will work with you if you need help. Best advise - work in teams to do HW and review sheets he provides. Study daily - mandatory for good grade!!

that was a tough class. Seriously, show up and pay attention. Do all the homework and find some extra practice. He's fussy about the wording of definitions and interpretations, so learn those carefully. Exams resemble the samples...those are fantastic to practice. I've heard about stats from other b-schools; this is hard-core and very useful.

Awesome professor. The material is conceptually hard but he is very thorough and incredibly organized. He keeps you there the entire class time but it goes by fast. One of the best professors I have had. He's a nice guy and very helpful. Just don't skip out on doing the assignments. I'd sign up for another class with him.

If you dont read between the lines and carefully look for little details YOU'RE DEAD! If you dont do the homework YOU'RE DEAD! If you dont study for the tests YOU'RE DEAD! Statistical Methods for Business - I didn't have a good experience in this class, but that was more my fault b/c I didn't take it very seriously. He's a bit of a hard ass and doesn't like it if he thinks you're aren't paying attention. This guy is very old school. But, he covers the subject well!
