Just an honest review ladies and gentlemen. I missed the first week of classes due to the death of a parent, i had to work my bu*t off to get the A, but i still missed it at the end by 13 points. I emailed the professor telling her about my situation and she LITERALLY didn't take any points away from all of her students for the syllabus quiz for me

Honestly, dont take her. How you going to give us a questionnaire about the class and not give us the full credit because we didnt write that the class was what we expected. Her voice recording are insane she thinks we came straight from France when this is just a LVL 1 course. She complained to everyone about these reviews lol just be better.

She told us she wont read and evaluate a questionnaire about what we think of her but she ended up doing it before our grade got evaluated... typical. her class is not easy too. a friend of mine took a different professor and i felt like i'm taking intermediate french compared to him ??? and the quiz time dude, so short :))

DO NOT TAKE HER! I am a premed student with 4.0 GPA, she made my term a living hell! she sent us emails complaining about the three people that gave her a bad rating during the term. You got 500 points, you lose 40 instantly if you don't do the syllabus quiz at the very start of the term. If you're below 450, better know you're not getting an A...

The course is ok in summer but definitely is a lot of work but you can expect it for summer, The quiz time as mentioned I believe it is really not enough time especially since its french 1. The recordings she is strict and kind of expects us to sound super fluent.

She's so harsh, if you don't take the syllabus quiz you lose 25 points but if you do it you wont gain anything. Every week has stuff due on every Sunday except for the first week where everything is due 3 days from the first day (syllabus quiz and recordings) her recordings are really hard, she only graded 2 assignments before the midterm

She gives you 3 things each week; Recordings of songs, which is INSANE since we barely know how to introduce ourselves in French. She requires you to do a weekly assignment which is hard, like analyzing certain poems. She requires you to take a godly quiz every week. Her quizzes consist of 20 questions and she gives you 16 minutes ONLY. She's RUDE

if you are knew to the french language Mrs. Batemans class is perfect. she does have a funny candadian accent! if you are looking for higher level french take a higher class , it is very basic but well explained with the online textbook. Mrs. Bateman is a nice lady that acknowledges your work.

I took this class online. I'm not good in french and I was able to pass this class. Test is the hardest part but if you keep your study guide close and review it you should be fine and pass with an A/B for quizzes. Participation does matter but overall if you do the work she will grade you for completing. Not the worst class.

Madame Bateman is the best! Her classes are very laid back and she is always willing to help you understand. You watch a lot of french movies and videos that will give you and appreciation for french culture. TAKE HER CLASS. She drops the lowest test grades and gives study guides for each test. I had her for both 1001 and 1002.

Currently taking her online. Her online class is VERYYYY unorganized. Tests in OLI but quizzes in iCollege. I wish it were more consistent that way im not guessing where to look. Tests are part multiple choice, part short answer but she doesnt grade the short answer portion so it looks like you failed the test. I really regret taking this class.

I am not a fan of the way this online French class is laid out. Professor Bateman has an "immersion" style of teaching which I am sure would work in person but it is not effective online. I feel as though this professor is unreasonable in her expectations of first time French learners. The required MyFrenchLab is a useless and confusing program.

Easy A if you come to class. Attendance is mandatory and you can miss up to 4 days without penalty. Three tests, drops your lowest score. Gives online homework. Kind of boring lectures but overall a nice lady. She taught English in France for a few years, pretty interesting.
