She is an absolute sweetheart. There are only about 3 tests, all multiple choice and she even gives you an opportunity for extra credit. Her lectures are long and she basically just reads from the textbook but if you need her to repeat something she gladly will. She even talks about her experience in the force. Best Intro teacher.

Comment:

Prof. Beckerman is a good professor. Her exams are all multiple choice and are based on everything she said in her lectures, so take good notes. She reviews prior to every exam so anything you may have missed gets covered. Textbook is not really needed but is good to have.

One of the sweetest women I have ever encountered. She is an excellent teacher. She is very thorough and as long as you pay attention and take notes, you will do well in her class. I would most definately recommend taking a class with her.

I have her this semester and I find her enjoyable she has a ton of experience and tells a good story Pay attention to what she says and you will be good for the test She tries hard and works with you if you miss a test or need to retake it shes willing to help you out and cool fact she was 1st woman lieutenant for Nassau county

She is very nice and has a lot of experience in the field. She has great stories from when she was a cop. 3 easy MC exams and 1 paper/Guest Speaker/Powerpoint Presentation on a specific Crime. Pick one and that's all. Talks fast during her lectures so I suggest to bring a recorder to make it easier for notes. It was a fun class and she taught well.

As everyone has said, she's very boring but she's very nice. A's are possible if you follow along, if you sleep in class, never pay attention and less than half ass everything the lowest you'll get is a C. (Which is what I did)

HAVE MERCY SHE IS BORING!!!! The most boring professor i have taken ever. All she does is lecture in a very DULL way but her notes are crucial because everything she says is on her tests. Just memorize the notes, attendance matters and do the presentation and the class is yours.

took theories of crime with her. i never once cracked open the book. she will lecture the ENTIRE class time and can seem slow at times but her stories are usually interesting (she was a policewoman for years). We had 3 multiple choice tests, she went over the info several times before them, they were easy. 1 easy class project. She is a great prof!

Ive taken her about 2 times already. She is amazing! 2 Exams and everything is gone over in class meaning DONT EVER BUY THE REQUIRED TEXT! Shes a great person easy to talk to and if you do a oral project you automatically get an A!!
