I had Mrs. Vielma for Composition and Monster in Lit and she is an extremely fun professor. She likes to interact in class so lectures are fun and entertaining. Now that doesn't mean it's easy. She's "from the East Coast" so she will hold you to a high standard and require you to know your stuff. You can't BS your way through her class.

The Literary Vampire class is very exciting and funny, especially if you really love reading and interpreting symbols and characters and setting, etc. this professor is very helpful and she really loves her job and explain you everything clearly. I recommend you to take it before she retires!! SHE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO TEACHS THIS CLASS!!!

I had Vielma for my Vampire Literature class. As another comment stated, this isn't a class for slackers, she knows her stuff, and shes extremely nice and fun. Read all the stories and you'll do fine. She's pretty clear as to what she expects from her students. Easy mini quizzes, but study well for the 2 major tests within the semester.

awesome teacher she is really funny. becareful with your grammar errors i could if had at least an A but my grammar errors got me. i love her she helps you a lot. I would love taking her class again any time. I recommend her to everyone and anyone who takes 1301 or any english class with her. She likes cholos:)I was her favorite student.

if you want to really learn, she is def. the professor that can help! She knows her stuff, and unlike other professors at UTPA that hand out A's for just showing up to class, she has you earn it. She is the caliber of professor I had when attending UT-Austin. Slackers beware!
