Great guy, interesting sense of humor that I found hilarious. It is apparent that he knows what he's talking about and I'm sure he is a great accountant but he does not present the material in an understandable fashion.

He isn't a very good teacher, he tries to be funny way too often. Most of the stuff on the tests are not really explained very well. The only reason anyone in my class is able to pass any of them is because he lets you bring a paper with answers on it to use on the exam. If it wasn't required for my major, I would never take a class with him again.

Comment:

Bill (William) Lasher was far and away the best teacher I had at JCC. As another poster mentioned, he has a very "Michael Scott" type of humor that really adds ambiance to his classes - I actually looked forward to attending. In addition to this he used a very easy to understand teaching style and always made himself available for help if desired.

Teaches in a conversational style. At first you don't think you are learning anything but after a few weeks it all starts to come together and make sense. The Mr. Miyagi of accounting.

This professor can go both ways in the classroom. He tends to be both entertaining and annoying at times, but he definitely knows his material. Tests are a breeze for any of his classes. I took 3 of them,and they were all cake for sure. Easy A.

Took two accounting classes and did well in both. Open notes make it a easy grade, plus the Michael Scott type humor keeps things loose. Recommended for sure.

Bill, well Bill, ya know Bill, he, uhh, is umm, pff, ya know, Bill's good. He ya know, knows his stuff, regarding Bill-oriented, ya know, things Bill likes. Tennis appears to be his mainstay, as well as swimming before class at 6a.m. He makes class more interesting than your normal lecture based nod-central class. YAY BILL!

Bill is a great guy. He tells funny stories and can make those 2+ hours go by very fast, although, if you are trying to learn the material then don't bother with his class. A majority of the tests are open notes. Each test is an easy B because the last question is the only one that requires thought and not copying answers from a sheet of paper.
