he is really cool and he is passionate about what he talks about, but the exams are heavily based on the book so you have to buy it and you also have buy tophat. and while he lectures, there will be pop up quizzes you have to answer in ten seconds and he limits a lot of things you can see on campus for the long critiques.

Worst professor at Texas State. extremely unreasonable, very difficult!!! no reviews for test "if you take proper notes you would pass the test". don't take him if you're not wanting a D in the class.

His class isn't the worst, but he is very strict and kind of off-putting if you want to talk one-on-one. His tests are always super specific about things from the textbook, so make sure to read it prior to the test. It's not an easy A especially for people who already struggle academically. But at least the final isn't cumulative:/

So. boring. He likes what he teaches but hes been doing this a while and you can tell. Pretty chill about attendance but it was hard to want to go when he drones on and on. Nothing is interesting in this class. Wouldnt recommend him if you arent already super into theatre or fine arts.

Peeler is very nice and gives a lot of opportunity to get a good grade. His critique guidelines are pretty strict, and the exams have a lot of information (he does not give a study guide, either). The first quiz is the worst, but it's gets better as you go along. As long as you study and put the work in, you'll do well.

Peeler takes the whole class time (1 hour 20 minutes) lecturing through about 15 slides! Super boring, he doesnt give out any form of test review which make his tests extremely hard because youve got no clue what could be on it! Honestly, avoid peeler at all costs if you want an A. His tests make this seem like an advanced course; not an intro.

The lectures are very thorough and sometimes drawn out but everything is explained well. Must write papers over live arts performances and he is very particular about them but it's not hard to do well on them. Offers extra credit before every test, quizlet study guides online for each test, and no cumulative final.

strict no cell phone policy, Offers easy extra credit before every test, only homework you have is to do 4 critiques throughout the semester. As long as you follow the basic grading criteria and actually put some effort into your papers, you should do fine. definitely study for the tests and quizzes. attendance is mandatory and assigned seating.

Peeler is a straight forward kind of guy. If you show up, take diligent notes and don't mess around on your phone, then this class will be an easy A. That said, he LOATHES people who skip, leave early or don't pay attention. He is clearly very knowledgable about the subject he teaches and his passion for arts makes the class interesting.

Prof. peeler is an interesting guy. He's old school and can't stand electronic devices inside his lectures. He wants undivided attention and I don't think that's asking too much. I did not care for his quizzes but they weren't hard if you studied. Critiques (4 of them) take the most of your time. He's a nice guy and passionate about what he teaches

He is a professor that takes the my way or the highway approach to the course. Dont take his course if youre not okay to spend about $30 on tickets to Fine Arts performances. His tests are over anything covered in lecture and in the textbook, and he does not provide a review to anything. Quizzes are simple. Overall, nice enough but strict.

This was by far my favorite class of the semester. I learned so much about all of the different forms of art in the world, and got to view some pretty cool movies. Critiques are extremely important so be sure to go to your play/concert/art gallery at least a week before the paper is due! Also make sure to follow the formatting to the bone.

Mr. Peeler is very serious about this subject. He's not terrible as long as you do what you're supposed to. This definitely is not a blow off class. Study for the quizzes, they're short and easy as long as you recognize the material. The critiques are pretty okay, but make sure you follow the guidelines EXACTLY. He lets you know what he expects.

This is not a blow off class!! I had to put as much work into writing those critiques as I put into my other classes. When you hear that he is very picky about his critiques it is not a joke. I accidentally made my header double-spaced and I got 30 points off. Be careful! Also, if he sees you on your phone he will embarrass you.

I loved Peeler's lectures, but then again I've always liked fine arts. TREAD CAREFULLY with critiques. I am a strong writer and received a zero on my first paper because of formatting, so watch out. For quizzes, study the timelines he puts on TRACs and you'll be okay. If you want a blow-off fine arts credit, he is probably not for you.

Peeler is a boring professor. It is almost as if he wants you to struggle in this course. He does not make it easy. As a student who is not seeking a future in theatre I advise against taking his course.

The only fine arts class where you'll actually learn. He is a tough grader, but it makes you actually have to do work to get good grades. His lectures are so easy to pay attention to. He's adorable and I love him. Don't get on your phone in class, and don't buy the book its really not that important.

I got all A's in my core classes and a D in art. Whatever you do, do not take him. I used to love learning about art but this class ruined my respect for art.
